Deciding to gift mom some financiers!
So get this — my mom suddenly said she wanted to try financiers! I figured it'd be better to just pick out a delicious one and gift it to her directly rather than explaining what baked goods are, so I looked up a good financier spot near Gongdeok Station.
This time I visited Fluffy Bake Shop. It's close to Gongdeok Station so it was easy to find, and besides financiers they also sell madeleines, canelés, salt bread, and more — great for picking out a gift-worthy dessert.

So many kinds it was hard to choose!
The moment I walked into Fluffy Bake Shop, what caught my eye was the colorful display of baked goods. Ahhhh!!! I don't think I'd ever seen this many kinds of madeleines and financiers before — with financiers, madeleines, and even canelés and salt bread, I browsed one by one and genuinely wanted to take everything home.
I especially loved that they use AOP-grade Lescure butter!!! Since I was gifting these to my mom, it felt great knowing good butter was used — perfect for a gift.
Most items were priced around ₩3,000–4,000, so picking out a bunch of different flavors didn't feel like a big burden!
The canelés and madeleines looked absolutely gorgeous... hahaha
Best of all, they had pretty shopping bags ready, which is great news for anyone looking for a Gongdeok Station dessert gift. The basic packaging itself was so pretty, and everything comes individually wrapped.
Surprisingly delicious: the gamtae financier
Planning to share these with mom, I picked out several flavors like almond, melon, and hwangchiju (yellow cheese)... ahh, they looked so good just by themselves.
There were so many kinds that I spent a long time deciding, but the one that turned out to be surprisingly delicious was the gamtae (sea moss) financier.
The subtle aroma of gamtae paired better than expected with the nutty, buttery taste that's characteristic of financiers. The almond financier was also delicious — the almonds on top were genuinely amazing!
Honestly, if calories weren't a thing, I would've wanted to take every single one home.
The crunchy almonds combined with the moist financier really worked well together, and personally it was my favorite.
Good for eating in or taking out
Inside Fluffy Bake Shop, there's also a small seating area, so you can eat your baked goods there instead of taking them to go.
They also have drinks available, so it'd be nice to pair a financier or madeleine with a drink and enjoy some Gongdeok Station dessert time.
But since my purpose that day was gifting mom, I packed a bunch of items into a pretty shopping bag.
