What Molto Italiano looks like from outside

The entrance to Molto Italiano had such a cozy feel even before you factor in the white tones and warm lighting — I loved it. There was an Italian flag and a cute chef drawn in chalk, giving it the feel of a small restaurant tucked in a European alley.

Is Molto Italiano a good date spot inside?

Inside, Molto Italiano — a great date spot near Busan City Hall — also combines white walls with wood flooring, giving the whole place a warm, cozy feeling.

Sunlight came in nicely through the grid-patterned windows, making the space feel bright, and the white curtains matched the windows so beautifully that it felt like a proper date with my husband after a long time.

Nachos, shrimp chips, sauce, and pickles are all available to help yourself anytime at the self-serve bar.

You can snack on these while waiting for your main dish to arrive.

The sauce is really good too if you mix in onion and olives.

New blue cheese Bismarck pizza, 17,500 won

Our order was the squid ink risotto (₩16,500) and the Blue Cheese Bismarck (₩17,500). Turns out there was a new menu item when we visited, so we decided to try it 😄

As soon as the Blue Cheese Bismarck pizza hit the table, the savory cheese smell hit us~ On top were bacon, golden-baked cheese topping, and a soft-boiled egg.

The staff told us to pop the yolk with a fork and spread it all over the pizza, so we gave it a try as instructed.

I worried it might taste eggy, but one bite in, the moist yolk wrapped around the blue cheese's distinct flavor and the salty cheese and bacon, actually making the pizza taste softer and more savory.

The olive oil and honey sauce that came with it was seriously the best — it added sweetness to the already savory pizza.

Squid ink risotto with a whole squid, 16,500 won

The squid ink risotto had a whole squid sitting on top of the black ink risotto, and I gasped the moment I saw it. Cherry tomatoes, green basil leaves, and white cream sauce surrounded it, so the colors were gorgeous too.

They cut the whole squid into bite-sized pieces with tongs and scissors, and my husband made it dance around a bit, so we were laughing before we even started eating.

The distinctive heavy, savory, salty umami of the ink was deeply soaked into every grain of rice, and I kept going back for more. It's delicious just with rice and squid, but you really should try a generous spoonful of risotto with a piece of squid and a fresh cherry tomato together 👍
