Gijang seaside café with fig tiramisu and matcha latte: Deokmi

Today I want to introduce a dreamy ocean-view café near Haedong Yonggungsa in Gijang — Deokmi Gijang Branch ₊☆·₊˚౨ৎ˚₊☆·₊

This was my second visit to Deokmi Gijang Branch, such a dreamy ocean-view café in Gijang, and I was excited to come back ෆ⸒⸒

What is on the menu at Deokmi Gijang Branch?

Besides the three signature drinks, they had a wide range of coffee and non-coffee menu items, plus a tea collection with four kinds of tea.

Deokmi is also famous for its handmade cakes, so of course it sells a good variety of desserts too.

There were cheesecakes and tiramisus in various flavors — a seasonal sweet corn cheesecake, and the signature Oreo cheesecake. I also loved that they had dessert models on display so you could check what each one actually looks like before ordering ☆ ˚｡

I ordered the signature drinks — royal vanilla bean latte, matcha latte, and Jeju Breeze tea — plus the best-selling fig-earl grey tiramisu and the signature Oreo cheesecake.

After ordering, the staff brought everything right to my table and kindly explained each menu item, including how to eat it.

And the plating was so pretty that my eyes were happy before I even took a bite ( ´͈ ᵕ `͈ )◞♡

Drinks at Deokmi: royal vanilla bean latte, matcha latte, Jeju Breeze

Royal vanilla bean latte

The royal vanilla bean latte is Deokmi's signature drink, made with house-made vanilla bean syrup. It was a soft latte with a gentle sweetness — not too sweet, but with the deep, distinct flavor of vanilla bean coming through. Really tasty.

Matcha latte: how strong is it?

The matcha latte let you really taste the deep flavor of the matcha itself, topped with a soft matcha cream. The smooth cream and the rich, deep matcha flavor worked well together, and since there was barely any sweetness, you could properly taste matcha's bitter, nutty character. If you love matcha, I'd definitely recommend this strong matcha latte.

Jeju Breeze decaf tea

Jeju Breeze is a chamomile tea with tangerine peel and lemon myrtle, with a fresh, sweet citrus aroma. The tangerine peel gave it that distinct tart tangerine flavor, followed by chamomile's gentle scent — nice for a relaxed sip. It's also decaf, which is great for drinking later in the day without worry.

Desserts at Deokmi: Oreo cheesecake and fig-earl grey tiramisu

Oreo cheesecake

The Oreo cheesecake has been Deokmi's beloved signature cheesecake since opening — a rich cheesecake where sweet Oreo and deep caramel notes come together. Soft cheesecake sits on top with crunchy, sweet Oreo underneath, and eating them together made the flavor so much richer. The Kiri cheese used gave it a strong, deep cheese flavor that paired beautifully with the sweetness of the Oreo — a cake I genuinely enjoyed ʕっ˘ڡ˘ςʔ

Fig-earl grey tiramisu with fresh figs

The fig-earl grey tiramisu is a popular tiramisu that balances sweet fig with a strong earl grey aroma — a cake with fig compote made from fresh figs and earl grey black tea cream, topped generously with fresh figs. The earl grey and fig combination was unfamiliar to me, but the sweetness of the fig and the deep aroma of earl grey went surprisingly well together. Taking a deep bite of fresh fig and tiramisu together made both flavors come through even more — delicious. I could see why it's said to be the most loved cake lately ᰔᩚ

Seating and ocean view at Deokmi Gijang Branch

Deokmi Gijang Branch is divided into two spaces ⁺⊹ ﾟ.⋆ The first space, with the counter, has several tables for 2–4 people along windows facing the sea.

The second space offers an even wider variety of seating.

It has a different vibe from the first space — more relaxed and traditional-feeling.

There's everything from seating for larger groups to cozy tables for two.

There are also cute outdoor seats in front of the first counter space with an open view of the sea!

The warm lighting and wood-toned interior made it feel even more cozy and relaxed — a great space to spend a healing moment looking out at the sea (*˙︶˙*)

Is Deokmi Gijang Branch worth a visit?

Deokmi Gijang Branch is an ocean-view café in Gijang that nails both mood and atmosphere — I got to enjoy the handmade cheesecakes and tiramisu as well as a variety of great drinks. I especially recommend the Oreo cheesecake, which my whole family loved, along with the nutty, deep-flavored matcha latte and the royal vanilla bean latte made with house-made vanilla bean syrup.

From the exterior to the interior, everything felt beautifully designed, and I loved that the different seating areas each had their own charm (ෆ•꒳•ෆ) Most of all, the relaxed, healing, quietly charming atmosphere made it perfect for spending unhurried time looking out at the sea.

It's also great for a walk near Ananti right next door after your café visit, and Haedong Yonggungsa is nearby too — so if you're looking for an ocean-view café during a trip to Gijang, I'd definitely recommend this one ☆*｡
