Sanbon stone-plate grill restaurant with tteokgalbi add-on: Deodolpan

I went to Sanbon recently after a long while and discovered an amazing restaurant!! I figured a sizzling stone-plate specialty place would be tasty, but the sauce itself was insane 🫢 Definitely a revisit-worthy spot! If you're near Sanbon Station and craving smoky, spicy, delicious stone-plate dishes, this place is a strong recommendation!

Where is Deodolpan Sanbon Branch, and what about parking and hours?

Deodolpan Sanbon Branch is at 16-7, Sanbon-ro 323beon-gil, 2F Unit 201, Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, inside Sanbon Jungsim Sangga near Sanbon Station. Hours are daily 11:00-22:00, with a break time from 15:00-16:00 and last order at 21:00.

• Parking: Not available on-site — use Sanbon Jungsim Sangga public parking (paid) or Sanbon Station public parking (paid)
• Payment: Local currency vouchers and mobile payment accepted

'Deodolpan' is located inside Sanbon Jungsim Sangga near Sanbon Station~ Parking isn't available, so I parked at the Gunpo City Hall parking lot and walked about 5 minutes~

What Deodolpan Sanbon Branch feels like at 5pm on a weekday

Deodolpan Sanbon Branch was spacious and comfortable, and since I visited around 5pm on a weekday, I could eat at a leisurely pace. I heard it hasn't been open that long, and maybe that's why ✨ it was so clean and fresh~

Today's star, stir-fried squid 😍 I bet a hot squid hot pot would be great for dinner too!

The 'double cheese jjapaguri' I debated ordering until the last second... looked so tasty..😇 Next time for sure!!

There are window seats too, so you can enjoy the view while eating haha. Baby chairs are ready for little guests~ and by the register there's candy, interdental brushes, and hair ties, just so you know!

Self-bar side dishes and the table setting at Deodolpan

Basic side dishes are served, and for extras you can use the self-bar~ It was set up really neatly~ stir-fried fish cake, pickled radish, perilla leaves, stir-fried bean sprouts, and yeolmu kimchi (young radish kimchi) were all ready!

Warm broth is available too!

Now let's get ready to eat using their tips for the best way to enjoy it! 😍 You can even add bunmoja (sweet potato starch noodles) or Chinese glass noodles!! Jjolmyeon noodles come as a default so I skipped those, but ordering it spicy and adding the noodles seems like it'd hit like mala xiangguo, stress-relief style haha

Ordering the 2-person stone-plate oje bokkeum set, 31,000 won, spicy

We ordered the 2-person sizzling stone-plate oje bokkeum set (₩31,000) and the grilled rice cake ribs (₩9,900). Squid alone felt like it'd be a shame, and I wanted to try the pork too, so I picked the squid + pork stone-plate set, and chose the spicy level.

Rice bowls came included with the set too! And the water wasn't plain water but a nutty barley tea(?). Doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) came as a basic side dish and it had a nice spicy kick — really tasty. Apparently you can swap it for cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) for +₩1,000, but the doenjang jjigae was so good it made me curious about the cheonggukjang too!😋

Today's star! The sizzling stone-plate stir-fry arrives! I ordered it spicy, and it was deliciously spicy — just the right amount! Next time I want to try it extra spicy hahaha (spicy enough to melt away stress, in the best way 👍🏻)

The owner topping the sizzling stone-plate stir-fry with jjolmyeon noodles deserves a PhD in flavor 🎓 The squid was plump and the pork was tender and soft~ but most of all the sauce was insanely delicious, so my husband and I kept glancing at each other ㅋㅋ complete with the 'this is really good' furrowed-brow face

Delicious wrapped in lettuce, and honestly, just as delicious eaten plain 🫢 Piled high on a bowl of rice with a drizzle of sesame oil, it's pure happiness!!

It was genuinely so good..💗 I went in for a stir-fried squid dish I don't get often, and unexpectedly found a place I definitely want to revisit 🥹

Was the 9,900-won grilled tteokgalbi worth adding?

The grilled rice cake ribs (jikhwa tteokgalbi) at Deodolpan Sanbon Branch are ₩9,900, and I ordered them after going back and forth with the double cheese jjapaguri.

Hot rice cake ribs can't be bad!

Juicy all the way through, this tteokgalbi couldn't be anything but delicious haha. But next time I really want to try that jjapaguri too (probably amazing!!)
