Sanbon meat restaurant with a kid: 41,500 won set at Geobugi Dongne
In short
Geobugi Dongne Gunpo Sanbon Branch is a pork belly and shabu-shabu restaurant newly opened on the second floor near Sanbon Station in Gunpo, Gyeonggi. The writer, her husband and their 7-year-old ordered the Shabu-shabu & Pork Belly Set at 41,500 won, which brought 300g of pork belly, 200g of thin-sliced Korean beef, kalguksu noodles and cauldron rice, then finished with ice cream and coffee from the self-bar. Wide spacing between tables and a tidy self-bar make Geobugi Dongne a weekend family dinner spot worth returning to with a child.

The same question hits every weekend: "What are we eating today, and where?" My house is no exception.

This weekend my husband, our kid and I went to check out a newly opened pork belly restaurant near Sanbon Station.
Just to say it upfront — on the way out, both my husband and I said at the same time, "This place is the real deal."

If you're hunting for a good pork belly restaurant in Sanbon, stick with me to the end of this post!
Where is Geobugi Dongne Gunpo Sanbon Branch, and its hours and parking

Address: 24 Sanbon-ro 323beon-gil, 2nd floor, Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea Hours: 11:30–23:00 (open every day) Parking: No parking on site; public parking lot 1 minute away on foot
Open kitchen and wide table spacing: why Geobugi Dongne works with kids

The moment I walked into Geobugi Dongne Gunpo Sanbon Branch, the open kitchen caught my eye. The owner trims the meat himself and slices it right when an order comes in, so freshness was never a concern.

The place was pretty spacious for the Sanbon commercial area, and the tables were spread far enough apart that we never had to worry about the next table over.
Cleanliness was well managed too, so the two things I care about most when eating out with a kid — hygiene and sense of space — both got a passing grade.
What's on the self-bar: salt, ssamjang and a shabu-shabu dipping sauce
Honestly, after trying a lot of pork belly places in Sanbon, it had been a while since I saw a self-bar this well looked after.
Every side dish container and every sauce jar

was neatly arranged without a single thing out of place — you could tell just how meticulous the owner is.

The sauce lineup was solid too. Along with salt and ssamjang (soybean paste dip) for the pork belly, there was a separate sauce made specifically for shabu-shabu, so you could pick whatever suited your taste.
Fish cake, ham, and rice cake sticks were all laid out too, and it was so cute watching our 7-year-old excitedly pile them onto her plate.
What comes with the 41,500 won Shabu-shabu & Pork Belly Set

Here's what we ordered that day.
Shabu-shabu & Pork Belly Set (mild or spicy broth) — ₩41,500 Table fee (per 4 people) — ₩5,000 Beer — ₩5,000 Cauldron rice — ₩4,000
We only ordered one set, but it came with shabu-shabu, water dropwort and mushrooms, kalguksu noodles, 200g of Korean beef bulgogi, and 300g of pork belly — all at once.

For this much food at this price, I'd say it's one of the best value pork belly restaurants in Sanbon.

Once the mains were all set out, the table was so full I found myself reaching for my camera before anything else.
How do the 14-day aged pork belly and cauldron rice taste?
The meat at Geobugi Dongne Gunpo Sanbon Branch is aged for 14 days, apparently.

The moment I grilled it and took a bite, the juices burst out and it tasted soft and nutty.

The cauldron rice had great texture too, so in the end I gave in and had a glass of beer that I'd been trying to hold off on.

I cut some up and put it on our kid's plate first, and she ate it right up. A kid's palate never lies — I really felt that in this moment.
Shabu-shabu broth, noodle add-ins and the dipping sauce

The broth itself was deep and clean-tasting, and once our kid added in the fish cake and rice cake sticks she picked out herself, the savoriness went up another level.

Thanks to the dedicated sauce set up separately at the self-bar, it almost felt like eating at a dedicated shabu-shabu restaurant. A nutty bite of pork belly followed by a sip of hot broth — that combo never gets old.
Free ice cream and self-serve coffee for dessert

After the meal, I scooped some ice cream from the self-bar, not expecting much since it's the free ice cream you get at a pork belly restaurant.

But one bite in, I was surprised — it melted smoothly with a rich, premium milk flavor.

Our kid had the ice cream, I finished with self-serve coffee, and it was satisfying that we didn't need to go to a separate café afterward.
Why Geobugi Dongne is worth it for a family meal in Sanbon
From start to finish, it was hard to find anything to complain about. A wide, comfortable dining room, aged meat, a well-stocked self-bar, shabu-shabu that rivals a dedicated specialty restaurant, and dessert that exceeded expectations — this place had it all.
If you're weighing where to go for a family meal, I can confidently recommend Geobugi Dongne Gunpo Sanbon Branch when you're looking for a pork belly restaurant in Sanbon. My family plans to go back again soon!
