Sanbon hair salon in Gunpo: Elizabeth perm on thick hair, Urban Trend
In short
Urban Trend Sanbon is a hair salon on the 4th floor at 78 Gwangjeong-ro in Sanbon, Gunpo, Gyeonggi, a large space with five shampoo chairs and a full-body massage chair. Thick, heavy hair gone frizzy from frequent blow-drying got only a light trim on the ends plus an Elizabeth perm; the perm solution was slow to take, so the service ran long, but the curls set firm and bouncy. With a hurt back that made sitting for long uncomfortable, being able to lie down in the shampoo room for the finishing steps made the visit at Urban Trend Sanbon easy.

Urban Trend Sanbon: location, hours and parking
Urban Trend Sanbon is a hair salon at 78 Gwangjeong-ro, 4th floor, units 401, 402, 403, in Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do. Hours are Mon–Fri 10:30–20:30, Sat 10:00–20:00, Sun 10:00–19:00. Parking is available for up to 2.5 hours, but since the lot is small, public transit is recommended.
Why a perm instead of cutting it into a bob
My hair had gotten really frizzy overall from frequent blow-drying, and the curls from my old perm had pretty much fallen out, so no matter what I did it just wouldn't sit right… ㅠㅠ
Lately I've had a sudden urge to chop it all off into a bob, and I've been saving photos of bob hairstyles trying to decide. But I have a lot of hair and it's thick — maybe I'm short on nutrients, because it just doesn't grow long!? So I figured if I cut it into a bob, I'd probably be stuck in the awkward growing-out zone forever...
So I decided: just trim a little and get a perm! I went to Urban Trend in Sanbon. I'd had my hair done there a few times before, and every time the staff were so kind — my hair always came out exactly how I wanted. So this time too, I headed over with my heart racing 💨💨

Booking on Naver and sending requests ahead on TalkTalk
I booked through Naver without specifying a designer. Designer Taehyung took care of me, and I'd already sent my desired style and requests through TalkTalk beforehand — he had it all noted and was fully prepared, right down to the small details 👍🏻

Inside Urban Trend Sanbon and the changing room
The interior is spacious with lots of seating, so it feels really comfortable!

After storing my things in the changing room, I put on a gown and was shown straight to my seat — heart racing haha.

They also run a variety of promotions, so it's worth checking those out too!

Five shampoo chairs, so no waiting for a wash
Since my hair length was a bit in-between, he trimmed just the damaged ends before we moved to the shampoo room.

There's a dedicated shampoo area in the back of the salon, and it has a whopping five shampoo chairs! Usually at salons there are only a few shampoo chairs and you end up waiting, but at Urban Trend Sanbon there were enough for several people at once. Since I was getting a perm, I went back and forth to the shampoo room a few times, and the space was well set up each time, so it was comfortable.

How the Elizabeth perm was done, step by step
Using the reference photo I brought, we decided to go with an Elizabeth perm, and he explained in detail how he'd shape the curls to build the overall look. After the explanation, he applied the perm solution carefully — there was never any tugging or roughness during the process, so it wasn't painful or uncomfortable at all!

I'd injured my back not long ago ㅠㅠ so sitting for long stretches was a bit hard for me, and on top of that, the perm solution didn't take well on my hair, so the whole process took longer than usual. The designer kept checking in to see if I was okay and made sure I stayed comfortable — I was so thankful ㅠㅠ (touched).

The second solution, lying back in a full-body massage chair
For the last part — the second solution and the remaining steps (?) — they let me lie down in the shampoo room. And here's the important part! Do you know what my favorite thing about Urban Trend is!!? It's that chair. Not just any chair — a full-body massage chair!!! It's seriously the best, I kind of want one for myself...👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Even if you're perfectly healthy, sitting at a salon for a long time can leave you feeling stiff all over. I loved that Urban Trend thought about that detail too.

How the finished Elizabeth perm curls and hair felt
And finally, the finished Elizabeth perm! I've had a lot of perms before, but this time the curls came out better than ever — I was actually surprised when I saw it haha. The overall shape turned out exactly the way I wanted, and the curls were bouncy and full of life — I loved it so much.
Especially since perms can sometimes leave your hair feeling dry or damaged afterward, but this time there was none of that — my hair condition stayed good too, which made me even happier.

From now on I'm going to dry and style it well and try to keep these pretty curls as long as possible!! It's been a while since I got a perm I loved this much, and it really refreshed my mood. If you want a pretty perm, you should give this place a try too!! Totally satisfied 😍😍
