Suwan, Gwangju hair salon: kids' curly hair volume perm at Bomnal Hair

What is the inside of Bomnal Hair Suwan Branch like?

Lots of wide styling seats. It was much roomier than I expected, honestly beyond expectations. And it was really clean. You know how some salons have cut hair scattered all over the floor? Bomnal here was so clean. This place really takes hygiene seriously.

There was also a separate waiting area so both the person getting their hair done and the person waiting could be comfortable — I really liked that.

A kid's curly hair: volume perm, 7cm cut and layered cut

The treatments this time were a volume perm, a 7cm cut, and a layered cut, done by designer Seojeong at Bomnal Hair Suwan Branch. Our little princess needs a perm about once or twice a year for her hair type, and it had been a while since her last one. The desire to look pretty is really the same no matter your age, huh.

If you look at the photos you can tell — because it's curly, the hair bends, and my mom-eye kept noticing it was time for a perm every time I brushed her hair. Our princess had been waiting for this perm moment. Now she's off to get ready to transform at Bomnal Hair Suwan, heading into the shampoo room.

Shampoo before the volume perm

She's tall enough now that sitting in the shampoo chair doesn't look awkward at all haha. She's already 153cm. Some of you have been following her since she was a newborn — now she's basically a grown-up big sister. Time really flies, ugh.

The 7cm layered cut, step by step

Even though we cut it, our princess's hair grows back fast. She used to get a blunt cut, but now she prefers a layered cut. Cutting 7cm this time tidied up the damaged ends a bit — a relieving moment for mom's heart. (Fellow moms of girls know that morning-tangle face, right? Ugh.)

Designer Seojeong cut so carefully. When she was little she used to move her head around, but now that she's a bit older, she stayed still.

How the volume perm was done: volume on top, C-curls underneath

Now the real treatment begins. She put the perm rods in the top section for volume, and made the bottom curl in a C-shape. You can tell from the photos too, but she was so meticulous.

Before starting, she explained to the kid what was going to happen and what to be careful of. Kids love a kind tone of voice, right — our princess kept saying how nice she was, over and over haha.

Such a detailed treatment. Watching from the side, she was so meticulous that our princess had a satisfied smile.

Isn't this so pretty? Haha. The layered cut looks really nicely done too. Volume on top and C-curls underneath — exactly the style mom and daughter wanted, delivered exactly as requested.

You know this isn't the end yet, right haha. The final treatment step begins. It could have gotten boring, but our princess sat still through it all. Designer Seojeong kept checking in carefully along the way, which put her at ease.

I think this meticulous care is 90% of the reason the result turned out so pretty.

Alright, we're getting close to the finish! Both our princess and I were nervous-excited. Since it had been a while since her last treatment, the anticipation was even bigger.

I loved the layered cut so much. We're definitely coming back to designer Seojeong for another treatment. Now for the final shampoo.

Endlessly kind designer Seojeong even checked the water temperature before shampooing, and shampooed thoroughly. The shampoo's done now. Let's dry the hair one last time and go check out the volume perm result, shall we?

They even gave her juice to sip while wrapping up. I think this kind of attention to detail and kindness is exactly why Bomnal Hair in Suwan keeps getting so much love. And of course, the skill speaks for itself.

The finished volume perm: did the hair stop bending out?

After a long session at Bomnal Hair Suwan Branch, the finished volume perm combines volume on top, C-curls underneath, and a layered cut with texture. The hair bending we noticed at the start was completely gone.

After all that time, the volume perm designer Seojeong created is complete. It's exactly the style our princess wanted, so she was super happy. She's really finding her own style now haha. Kind designer Seojeong took such great care of her that satisfaction was at 200%.

No more of that initial hair bending, and the layered cut with texture makes the volume perm even prettier. Thank you to designer Seojeong for finishing such a pretty style. We'll be back! Our princess is clearly satisfied and says she wants to come again.
