Finding the Gwangjang Market bakery from Exit 8: Ssuk's Choco Pie
In short
Ssuk's Choco Pie Seoul is a bakery inside Gwangjang Market in Jongno, Seoul, selling refrigerated fresh choco pies made with mugwort (ssuk). From Exit 8 of Jongno 5-ga Station, the Gwangjang Market entrance leads straight ahead to the shop's green signboard on the left, where a 6-piece gift set cost 24,400 won and included Sea Breeze Mugwort with Whole Red Bean, Nonsan Strawberry, and Geomundo Sea Breeze Mugwort. Ssuk's Choco Pie Seoul is inside Gwangjang Market, and it was easy to find from either Exit 7 or Exit 8 of Jongno 5-ga Station. I went in through Exit 8, entered the market's main entrance, walked straight, and found it easily on the left.

Even from a distance, the green signboard and interior made Ssuk's Choco Pie Seoul stand out. Cute figurines greeted me right by the door.

Inside, too, there were cute figurines, a waiting area, and adorable green props symbolizing the Ssuk's Choco Pie brand.

Too many flavors to choose? Try the gift set
For anyone overwhelmed by the menu, I'd recommend the 6-piece gift set! It's available for ₩24,400, discounted ₩4,000 off the original ₩28,800 — that price covers 6 pieces total, including choco pie, scone, and cookie. Sea Breeze Mugwort with Whole Red Bean vs Nonsan Strawberry vs Geomundo Sea Breeze Mugwort
I brought home the choco pie lineup from the 6-piece gift set at Ssuk's Choco Pie, a bakery in Gwangjang Market. As a mugwort dessert specialist, the mugwort flavors are the most popular here, and since the choco pies come individually wrapped, I thought they'd make great gifts for friends or for Chuseok. Since so many reviews raved about the sea breeze mugwort flavors, I tried those first.

Whole Red Bean Mugwort Sea Breeze had visible whole red bean grains, since the red bean cream filling inside the choco pie is made with domestic whole red beans. With the mugwort aroma and the sweet chocolate pie, it was a great dessert to pair with coffee. Choco pies keep for 8 days refrigerated or up to 30 days frozen.

Nonsan Strawberry is one that anyone, regardless of age or preference, will love! The choco pie was packed with the strawberry's refreshing tang. If you're torn on what to order at Ssuk's Choco Pie in Gwangjang Market, the Nonsan Strawberry is a crowd-pleaser worth grabbing.

Geomundo Sea Breeze Mugwort was my clear favorite at Ssuk's Choco Pie Seoul, the bakery in Gwangjang Market. Cutting it open revealed a cross-section packed full of fresh cream. The chocolate flavor and the mugwort's bitterness balanced out the sweetness perfectly, giving it a refined, one-bite luxury feel. I'll definitely buy this one again the next time I visit Gwangjang Market.

After enjoying bindaetteok (mung bean pancake) and gimbap (seaweed rice roll) at Gwangjang Market, how about stopping by Ssuk's Choco Pie, a bakery inside the market, before heading home to pick up something elegant and delicious for dessert?
