Short-line food trucks on a sold-out Jamsil game day: Bingdongdaeng
In short
Bingdongdaeng is one of three food trucks by outfield ticket booth 1 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Songpa, Seoul, selling bingsu (shaved ice) and Korean snacks. On a weekday Samsung-Doosan game that sold out every seat, the writer skipped the long gimmalguk and samgyeopsal lines and carried Bingdongdaeng strawberry bingsu for 15,500 won, an Ippeun Yeowoo bacon corn mayo hot dog for 10,900 won and Station cream shrimp for 15,000 won back to Red Seat section 119. The game was a blowout, but all three dishes delivered, and the bingsu is best eaten first before it melts.

My friend Yeonjin came up to visit Seoul after a while >_< and to make it an amazing two days, we hit the BIGBANG exhibition on day one and went to watch baseball in Jamsil on day two hahahaha
Turned out Samsung was playing Doosan at Jamsil Stadium that day! It ended up being a total blowout, but you've gotta have good food at the ballpark, right~!?
How long was the wait at the Jamsil Stadium outfield ticket booth 1 food trucks?
The food trucks near outfield ticket booth 1 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium were relatively less crowded than the gimmalguk (rolled kimbap soup) or samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) lines. It was an important game that day and even though it was a weekday, every single seat was sold out. So there were SO many people,,, I couldn't work up the courage to wait in line for the famous gimmalguk or samgyeopsal, so I went to the relatively less crowded food trucks by outfield ticket booth 1!

There are three food trucks total here — first up is Bingdongdaeng, which sells bingsu (shaved ice) and Korean snacks

And apparently this one's famous in Gyeongju? Ippeun Yeowoo Hot Dog. Yeonjin randomly tried it while passing through Gyeongju and said it was amazing, so I knew I had to try it too!

And then there's Station, selling Jamsil Stadium's signature cream shrimp! Though honestly cream shrimp feels like something every stadium sells these days, this place did something unique — they layer nacho chips underneath. Usually they use shrimp chips, so that was surprising! As game time got closer, customers started flooding in like crazy — the wait got wild

Ordered one of each and picked it all up! All three trucks packed everything so neatly, it was really convenient
What the writer ordered at the Jamsil food trucks, and what it cost

- Bacon corn mayo hot dog (₩10,900)
- Strawberry bingsu (₩15,500)
- Cream shrimp (₩15,000)
That's what we ordered! Someone said the bacon corn mayo was the best, so we had to try it

Yeonjin's first-ever live game in Jamsil, and the result was,,,, an absolute disaster ㅠㅠ ugh, shape up. There were plenty of people who came all the way from Daegu, don't do this to them
Station cream shrimp, 15,000 won with nacho chips underneath

Being annoyed is one thing, but good food is good food, so let's eat. Yeonjin booked us seats in Red Seat section 119, and the view here was insanely good,,,? First time I've sat this close to the field in Jamsil hahahahahaha

The cream shrimp tasted exactly like the cream shrimp everyone knows!!! The shrimp were bigger and plumper than expected, and while the sauce is creamy, it had a slightly spicy edge mixed in, so it wasn't overly heavy!
Ippeun Yeowoo Hot Dog bacon corn mayo, 10,900 won

This hot dog is an absolute treasure ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ the sausage itself is super juicy, the bun is soft, and the bacon topping on top was so generous. They drizzled on a ton of sauce too, and as a sauce fanatic I was so happy!!!! It was a bit hard to eat by hand though, so they gave us a knife and fork, and Yeonjin cut it up nicely so we could enjoy it. I'd definitely order this again next time
Why Bingdongdaeng strawberry bingsu should be eaten first

I forgot about the strawberry bingsu because I was too focused on the game ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ if you're going, please eat the bingsu first,,,hahaha. But wait, even a bit melted, it was still so good, for real. It would've been even better ice cold,,,,,, honestly the food was all delicious, but here I am after watching a game that useless

Got so annoyed watching that we went to Singil for kkomjangeo (grilled eel) afterward, hehe. Recommend this spot to anyone at Jamsil Stadium looking for food with relatively shorter waits~!
