If you're planning a Jeonju Hanok Village date course, there's really no better place than this. With Gyeonggijeon right in front and Jeondong Cathedral in view through the floor-to-ceiling windows, you can even watch the sunset from your seat — this is exactly what Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang offers. It's already gone a bit viral after appearing on the show Six Sense.

There's no menu of options to choose from — it's one standardized course. For ₩15,000 you get a 30-minute aroma foot bath along with a shoulder massage and a drink, a satisfying package.

An unusually thoughtful entry process

When you walk in, you first take off your shoes and change into slippers, then leave your bags in a locker before being shown to your seat.

Thanks to this careful flow, you can move around lightly and focus purely on relaxing. For anyone exhausted from lugging around heavy bags while traveling, this bag storage system alone is a very welcome touch.

Every seat has a window view — Gyeonggijeon and Jeondong Cathedral at a glance

The biggest draw here is the view. Every seat faces the window, so no matter where you sit, you get the full Jeonju Hanok Village view.

Window view showing Gyeonggijeon and Jeondong Cathedral

Through the window, Gyeonggijeon and Jeondong Cathedral spread out right in front of you, and on Saturday afternoons you can hear the lively sound of a farmers' band performance and busking music, making it feel almost like watching a live show. Apparently the sunset falling over the hanok village at dusk creates a truly romantic atmosphere, so timing your visit well could be a good tip.

Sitting in the Six Sense filming seat

This particular seat is also famous as a filming location for the entertainment show Six Sense — the seat I sat in was apparently the very one Go Kyung-pyo sat in on the show, which made the whole visit feel surprisingly special and satisfying. Having a unique photo spot like this is another reason I'd recommend this place as a Jeonju Hanok Village date course.

Choosing an aroma foot bath scent — I went with peppermint

Peppermint, lavender, and rosemary aroma oils

Once you're seated, you first choose your aroma foot bath scent from three options: peppermint, lavender, or rosemary. Peppermint is effective for reducing leg swelling, so it's especially good if your legs feel heavy after a long day of walking. Lavender is great for calming the mind and easing insomnia, suiting those who just want to rest comfortably. Rosemary is said to help relieve stress, so pick the scent that fits your mood that day.

I chose peppermint because of my leg swelling. As soon as I picked it, the staff poured a generous amount into the foot bath machine.

Soaking my feet in warm water while breathing in the subtle peppermint scent and getting a foot pressure massage on top of it — that alone melted away all the fatigue from traveling.

30 minutes of shoulder massage and hand pressure massage

Getting a shoulder massage during the foot bath

While enjoying the foot bath, you can also get a pain-relief massage on your shoulders, neck, back, or wherever you want. It lasts around 30 minutes — not a short time — and the therapist worked thoroughly through the tight spots from shoulders to neck to lower back, which felt really refreshing. On top of that, you get hand pressure massage at the same time as the foot bath, so the time is used really efficiently.

You can also choose a drink on top of all this, so I got to sip a warm tea or a cool drink while relaxing at leisure.

A moisturizing finish — even foot cream

Towel used to dry feet after the foot bath

After the 30 minutes of foot bath and massage, they towel-dry your feet cleanly, then finish by applying a fine foot cream.

Foot cream applied as the finishing touch

Thanks to this attention to even the smallest detail, my feet felt moisturized and smooth. Walking back outside, I could clearly feel my steps had gotten lighter and my head felt clear and refreshed. After thoroughly loosening up my feet and shoulders that had gotten worn out from walking all over Jeonju Hanok Village, I was able to enjoy the rest of my trip much more comfortably.

  • Anyone wanting to relax while enjoying views of Gyeonggijeon and Jeondong Cathedral

  • Travelers hunting for photo spots like the Six Sense filming location
