Bucheon bar for a fourth-round Spam and fried egg: Yeongpo

It was my first time in Bucheon, and I was surprised by just how amazing the outdoor drinking-street atmosphere was. Especially once I headed toward Jung-dong Station, one bar after another flowed into outdoor tables, so the whole street was filled with the feeling of drinking outside.

On a day with nice weather, you really can't leave out that outdoor-table vibe, right? As I walked by, most people were sitting outside having a drink, and it somehow got me excited too.

Yeongpo, an Outdoor Bar Near Jung-dong Station

The place I visited this time was Yeongpo, an outdoor bar near Jung-dong Station in Bucheon. It had only recently opened, so the place was quite neat, and above all, I loved that it is a bar where dogs are welcome.

I couldn't visit with my dog this time, but it made me want to bring our dog next time and enjoy the outdoor-table atmosphere together. I think it would be nice news for anyone looking for a dog-friendly bar too.

An Outdoor Drinking-Street Atmosphere Across the Whole Block

The outdoor drinking street near Jung-dong Station was much bigger than I had expected. It wasn't just one or two places running outdoor tables; the bars had tables set out all along the street, so the street itself created one big atmosphere.

It definitely felt different from drinking indoors. It was fun to sit and watch people passing by, and having a drink amid all the lively noise even made it feel as if I were traveling.

Spam and Fried Eggs for the Fourth Round

That day in particular, we arrived after hopping around several places, almost at our fourth round, so we were already fairly full. Yeongpo's food prices are low, so I originally wanted to try this and that, but we had eaten so much already that we chose something light.

We ordered the Spam and fried eggs, and it was only ₩10,000.

These days, one bar snack can feel pricier than expected, but being able to order one for ₩10,000 made me think it would be good for ordering several dishes to share. At an outdoor table, it's especially fun to have a drink while trying a little of several snacks, and the low prices seemed to give you more options.

As you can see in the photo, the Spam and fried eggs came with fried eggs and Spam together. With several egg yolks on top, it looked surprisingly generous, and honestly, Spam and eggs are a combination that's hard to fail with as a drinking snack.

It was a simple, easy-to-eat dish that suited us perfectly on a fourth round. When you're full but still want one more drink, a light snack like this is the most welcome thing.

Yeongpo's food is generally inexpensive, so next time I want to order and try a variety of other dishes too. There were lots of things I couldn't eat that day because I was so full, but next time I plan to come for a first or second round, lay out several snacks, and take my time eating. Having drinks with a spread of dishes at an outdoor table sounds like it would really set the mood.

Outdoor Tables on a Cool Evening

More than anything, what I liked most that day was the outdoor-table atmosphere. Sitting outside for drinks, I could feel a little breeze and hear people talking around us, and it was definitely different from eating indoors. On cool evenings like these, drinking at an outdoor table feels truly happy. Even without a particularly special dish, just eating outside made the atmosphere come alive.

Why It Was Also Great as a Dog-Friendly Outdoor Bar

I also personally liked that Yeongpo allows dogs. When you have a pet, there are fewer places than you might think where you can take your dog out to eat or have drinks, so if it is a place where you can be together at an outdoor table like this, I definitely want to bring our dog Danji next time.

Sitting at an outdoor table with a dog, having a simple snack, and spending time together sounds like it would make a different kind of memory too.

A Good Stop From the First Round to the Fourth

If you want to properly experience the outdoor drinking-street mood around Jung-dong Station in Bucheon, it is worth visiting at least once. The snack prices are not burdensome, so it is good for ordering several dishes from the first round onward, and like us, it is also a fine stop for a light second, third, or fourth round when you are already full. Above all, the whole area carries that outdoor-table atmosphere, so rather than just enjoying one bar's mood, I loved the feeling of enjoying drinks outside across the whole street.

Sometimes you want a drink at an outdoor table while feeling the cool breeze on a nice evening, and I think this is exactly the kind of day when you could really enjoy the atmosphere. If you are planning a bar date around Sinjung-dong, don't look only for indoor bars—take a look around the outdoor drinking street by Jung-dong Station too. If it is your first Bucheon outdoor drinking street like it was for me, just looking around at the street atmosphere will be fun. Next time, I am planning to bring Danji and properly enjoy it, haha.
