Dog-friendly Bucheon bar with boneless chicken feet soup: Yeongpo

Let me introduce Yeongpo, a dog-friendly bar in Sinjungdong. It's a Bucheon bar where I could enjoy great-value dishes that are cooked to order rather than served as milk kits. There's an outdoor terrace too, perfect for enjoying that outdoor pojangmacha (street tent bar) vibe now that the weather's cooling down, and since indoor dog companions are allowed, I brought my dog along :)

Yeongpo is a dog-friendly bar in Bucheon located a 6-minute walk from Sinjungdong Station Exit 3, tucked inside the car-free clock tower food alley. There's no dedicated parking lot on site, so if you're driving, you'll need to use nearby public or roadside parking.

There are plenty of good restaurants and cafés nearby too, so it seemed like a great spot for a Sinjungdong evening meetup, and the retro pojangmacha-style exterior gave it a warm, welcoming feel.

What are Yeongpo's outdoor terrace and indoor seating like?

There are outdoor tables set up right at Yeongpo's entrance, which looked perfect for enjoying an outdoor pojangmacha atmosphere on nice-weather days like these. The interior is decorated in a retro pojangmacha style.

Since it's a newly opened Bucheon bar, the whole place felt clean and pleasant, and the tables were spaced generously enough to relax comfortably!

There's also a big open window that gives the space an airy feel, and it can be booked for private groups from 15 up to 40 people, making it a good spot for company dinners or Bucheon group gatherings.

Which dogs can come inside Yeongpo?

Yeongpo is a dog-friendly bar in Bucheon that allows dogs indoors, and I visited with my white dog. Small dogs can enter both indoors and outdoors, while large dogs are only allowed on the outdoor terrace — worth keeping in mind before you visit :)

Yeongpo's menu and what we ordered

Yeongpo has a wide range of dishes, from hearty mains like basil baeksuk (herb-stewed chicken), kimchi jjim (braised kimchi stew), and kkotgetang (crab stew) to lighter side dishes, making it good for a meal-with-drinks visit or a second-round Bucheon bar. Everything is cooked to order rather than served as milk kits, which had me excited even before ordering..!

The basic side dish was gwabaegi (twisted fried dough) crackers, which were crispy with a subtle sweetness — great for perking up the appetite while waiting for the main dish, and individually wrapped for a clean way to snack.

How does the boneless chicken feet soup taste?

Yeongpo's boneless dakbal (chicken feet) soup at ₩23,000 came in a wide bowl full of spicy broth, topped with two boiled eggs — it looked delicious from the moment it arrived.

Since it's boneless dakbal, there was no need to pick out bones — you could just pick it up and eat right away, which was especially convenient, and it had no gamy smell and was tender, making it great as a drinking snack :)

Ordering dakbal comes with a bowl of bean sprout soup on the side — the broth was seasoned just right, tasty even on its own, and sipping it between bites of spicy dakbal cleansed the palate nicely.

Adding udon noodles for 3,000 won

Yeongpo also offers various noodle add-ons, so we added udon noodles for ₩3,000. The spicy dakbal broth soaked nicely into the udon noodles and tasted great, plus the portion was hearty enough to make it a good option for a simple meal with drinks.

Eating the chicken feet with the two eggs and bean sprouts

The two boiled eggs that come with the soup dakbal go really well when lightly dipped in the spicy sauce — the eggs' mild flavor balances out the heat perfectly, one of my favorite combos!

If you put the bean sprouts from the soup on top of the dakbal, it creates a light broth that's great for spooning up, and the crunchy texture of the bean sprouts adds a whole new dimension to enjoy :)

And of course, no dakbal is complete without a cold draft beer..! They have 300cc glasses starting at just ₩2,900, super affordable to enjoy without any worry 😊

Is Yeongpo worth a visit? Final verdict

Yeongpo is a dog-friendly bar in Bucheon that's great for enjoying that outdoor pojangmacha atmosphere along with a wide variety of dishes. As a Korean-style pojangmacha that cooks everything to order, it has hearty mains and side dishes alike, making it good for a meal-with-drinks visit, and best of all, dogs are allowed indoors, which made it comfortable to enjoy with my dog. If you're near Sinjungdong Station looking for a spot for a friend meetup, company dinner, or a great dakbal restaurant, I highly recommend giving it a visit :)
