My boyfriend and I stopped by while looking for somewhere to have a late-night snack.
We had already had dinner, so we needed somewhere for a light drink. The deciding factor was that this outdoor-style bar near Seokchon Station lets you stay late.
An outdoor-style bar in the alley between Seokchon and Jamsil stations
This is an outdoor-style bar in the alley between Seokchon and Jamsil stations.
It is on the first floor farther into Baekjegobun-ro 41-gil, the second shop from the left, so you will spot it as soon as you enter the alley.
It opens at 5 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays it stays open until 1 a.m. the next day.

It is a great time slot for moving on to a second stop after wrapping up dinner, or for a late-night snack.

When is best if you want to go late?
Friday or Saturday is best if you want to sit back and take your time late at night. Those are the only two days it is open until 1 a.m. the next day, and last orders are at midnight.

On weekdays it closes at midnight and last orders are at 11 p.m., so you need to plan your timing. Thursday opens an hour later than the other days, at 6 p.m., and it is regularly closed on Mondays.

You can order from the QR code placed at each table!

Three dishes and two drinks ordered for two
Today Rice Soju
We started with Today Rice Soju.

It is a distilled soju made from rice, so it was easy to pair in sequence with lightly flavored dishes such as sashimi and sushi.

Bokbunja highball
After we finished it, we switched to a bokbunja highball.

Switching to a fizzy highball instead of continuing with soju made my palate feel lighter. Since it is bokbunja (Korean black raspberry)-based, it is on the sweeter side.

Gizzard shad sashimi
For a dish to share, we chose gizzard shad sashimi.

Gizzard shad is a seasonal fish that is only briefly available in autumn.

When it is in season, it is the kind of thing I reach for first when I find it at an outdoor-style bar.

Starting with sashimi rather than a cooked dish meant it did not overlap with the dishes that followed.

Sushi rice
We added sushi rice to eat with the gizzard shad sashimi! It keeps the sashimi-first flow going.

It gave the lineup of drinking dishes some balance. It was also an easy amount for two people to share.
Corn cheese
The third dish was corn cheese.

The first two dishes were both cold, so we ordered this because we wanted something warm.

It is the kind of dish that is nice to leave on the table and slowly pick at with drinks at an outdoor-style bar, so it stayed with us until the end.

How to get to Daegang from Seokchon Station
It is 655 m from Exit 1 of Seokchon Station. It is walkable, and on the map it is positioned within walking distance of Jamsil Station, Seokchon Station, and Songpanaru Station.
Look for the second shop from the left on the first floor of 42-8 Baekjegobun-ro 41-gil.

From cold dishes to a warm dish
Daegang (대강) is an outdoor-style bar where you can sit late between Seokchon and Jamsil stations. The two of us ordered five things: gizzard shad sashimi, sushi rice, corn cheese, Today Rice Soju, and a bokbunja highball.

The progression from cold dishes to a warm dish, and from soju to a highball, flowed naturally.

With its 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday closing time, it is a good second-stop spot; just remember that it is closed on Mondays.
