I was looking for somewhere easy for a light date in Yongsan—eat, then hit a café—and ended up at Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch, a well-known spot on Yongridan-gil. It's an easy walk from both Yongsan Station and Sinyongsan Station, so it'd be handy if you're shopping or meeting someone nearby.🙂🙂

What is Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch, and how late is it open?
Hyeonseonine started as a street cart in 2004 and now runs 8 directly operated branches nationwide. Since they've been making tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) for so long, I had trouble deciding what to order, so I went with the Hyeonseoni Combo Set, which lets you try several menu items at once.
📌 They're open daily from 11:00 to 24:00, with a break time on Mondays from 14:30 to 16:00. You can still get a meal right up to midnight, so it's fine to visit late in the evening too. It's actually a popular Yongridan-gil spot for a second round after drinks.
What's in the Hyeonseoni Combo Set
The Hyeonseoni Combo Set isn't just tteokbokki on its own—it's the signature menu that lets you enjoy tteokbokki + assorted fritters + mini gimbap (seaweed rice roll) + sundae (Korean blood sausage) + curly fish cake all together💡 It's great for sharing when you're with a few people, and having all the classic sides you'd want with tteokbokki bundled in one order saved the hassle of picking separately.

Mild-flavor tteokbokki
First up, the main event—the tteokbokki. The sweet-and-spicy sauce soaked well into the rice cakes, giving that familiar, comforting snack-restaurant flavor.😎 You can choose your spice level, and I went with mild! It's a Sinyongsan/Yongridan-gil spot even spice wimps like me can visit comfortably, haha.

The rice cakes alone were tasty, but dipping the assorted fritters or mini gimbap into the tteokbokki sauce turned out to be a really good combination.

Assorted fritters
The assorted fritters let you try several kinds at once, and they paired well with the tteokbokki. Dipping the crispy fritters lightly in the sauce added a sweet-and-spicy kick with a crunchy texture—my hand kept reaching for more.👐

Mini gimbap and sundae
The mini gimbap was bite-sized and easy to eat alongside the tteokbokki, and the sundae (blood sausage) rounded things out nicely too—no snack-food spread feels complete without it. Overall the combo felt pretty substantial.📍

Curly fish cake
Having the curly fish cake included made this more fun to eat than a typical tteokbokki set. The curly-shaped fish cake went well with the sauce when eaten alongside the tteokbokki, and switching between the different items meant I got to enjoy a lot more variety than if I'd ordered just one dish.

Above all, the Hyeonseoni Combo Set covers pretty much everything you'd want from a snack restaurant—tteokbokki, fritters, gimbap, sundae, fish cake—all in one go, which makes it a great option if you're visiting with a few people and sharing.🧡

The vibe inside and a Yongridan-gil route
The inside of Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch has a comfortable atmosphere, good for when you want something in Yongsan that's not too heavy. There are so many cafés and restaurants scattered around Yongridan-gil, but this is a great spot to drop into midway through when you're craving something familiar like tteokbokki or fritters. If you like a wide variety of snack food in particular, I liked that the Hyeonseoni Combo Set alone lets you try so much.✔️

It's also a good stop if you're shopping or catching a movie around Yongsan Station or Sinyongsan Station, and afterward you could continue on to a café nearby on Yongridan-gil or head over to browse Yongsan I'Park Mall.
If you're looking for a familiar, easygoing snack-food meal in Yongsan, I'd fully recommend Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch!

✅ Beyond just tteokbokki, the Hyeonseoni Combo Set lets you eat assorted fritters, mini gimbap, sundae, and curly fish cake all together, which made it a particularly good fit if you want to sample a bit of everything.
