I went and stuffed myself with anju (drinking snacks) at Monthly Beer, a good spot in Guro Digital Complex for after work, for the first time in a while.
It's on the Gudi Kkalkkal-geori strip so it's super accessible, and it's an anju spot that's both delicious and great value, so my friend and I drank quite a lot there ୧( ˙̮˙ )୨✧

How much is soju at Monthly Beer? ₩4,000, plus a before-7pm discount
One reason I'd call Monthly Beer Guro Digital Complex Station Branch a great-value Guro bar is that soju and beer are just ₩4,000, whoa. On top of that, visiting before 7pm gets you a ₩7,000 discount service. (Not applicable to alcohol)

It's open until 2am, and until 4am on Fridays and Saturdays, so there's plenty of time to relax. Guro especially gets a lot of after-work crowds, so lots of people look for bars that stay open late.

Thursday evening seating and group reservations at Monthly Beer
The inside had way more seats than I expected. Group reservations are possible too, for up to 56 people apparently. I visited around 6:30pm on a Thursday and it was about half full, and by around 8pm it looked around 70% full. Even on a Thursday there were a lot of customers.

The restroom was tucked in the far corner of the store, and inside you could also borrow blankets and charge your phone.

What's on the Monthly Beer menu
The menu had pizza, pasta, chicken, stews, dried snacks, and even bingsu (shaved ice dessert) and sherbet for a nice finish. Out of everything, if you visit Monthly Beer, I definitely recommend trying the chicken👍
Two in-store events, including the roulette

If you join the roulette event, you can win a random snack, drink, or beverage, and if you're lucky you can get a special anju worth about ₩30,000~~

On top of that, joining the review event got us corn cheese too. If you win both the roulette and the review event snack, that's two free anju~~
The three anju (drinking snacks) we ordered
- Crispy fried chicken (₩21,900)
- Pan-fried kimchi cheese pilaf (₩10,900)
- Oreo choco-bingsu (₩13,900)

The basic snack that came out was crackers, but it wasn't just one kind—several were mixed together. There were three types: kkwabaegi (twisted dough sticks), chicken-leg-shaped ones, and shin-jjang(?), all coated in seasoning outside, so they were great to pick at with beer.

Crispy fried chicken, ₩21,900, with a whole fried onion
Next came the crispy fried chicken, and I was shocked by the massive portion lol. At first I wondered how it'd be for ₩21,900, but it even came with a whole fried onion—such a great-value anju lol

Along with the chicken came sauce, salt, and chicken-mu (pickled radish).

Maybe because it was freshly fried, the chicken was completely crispy, and the meat inside was tender too—like a textbook example of fried chicken lol. The fried onion had that distinct sweetness of cooked onion, which was a total stroke of genius✨

Pan-fried kimchi cheese pilaf, ₩10,900
Since we were both starving, we ordered a kimchi cheese pilaf to fill up. I ordered it without thinking much, but there was more cheese than expected and the pilaf was fried up nice and fluffy. So my friend and I scraped this one clean together.

Oreo choco-bingsu (shaved ice dessert), ₩13,900
We ordered Oreo choco-bingsu🍫 for dessert. The friend I met this time has really similar taste to mine, and as if we'd planned it, we both went for the choco bingsu lol~~ The bingsu was ₩13,900, but the toppings were piled so high that in the end we left a bit of it behind💦

Is Monthly Beer a good work-dinner bar in Guro?
My friend and I ordered three whole anju, stuffed ourselves after a long while and drank plenty, and every single snack was so tasty at this bar. The fried chicken and fried onion especially were my top pick✨ Monthly Beer has plenty of seating and can take group reservations, so I'd recommend it as a Guro group work-dinner bar too.
