Guro, Seoul bar with games and coin snacks: Eulji Pocha

In short

Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch is a lively bar in Guro, Seoul. We paired spicy seafood jjoljjajang with French toast, then enjoyed table games, coin snacks, dalgona, and cotton-candy making. Verdict: a great pick for a friends’ night out or an energetic team dinner.

Introduction to a visit to Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch

A night of drinks and games in Gudi

I went to Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch (을지포차 구로디지털점) for drinks with friends in Gudi. This isn’t a pocha (casual Korean drinking spot) where you just eat and drink: tables can play games against one another, and you can exchange coins for snacks or ice cream, so we really had a full night of fun. It’s great for groups, so I especially wanted to share it with anyone looking for a Gudi bar for a work dinner, too!

It’s on Gudi’s Kkalkkal Street and closest to Exit 2 of Guro Digital Complex Station. The blue sign stands out, so it’s easy to spot.

Eulji Pocha’s old market alley atmosphere

The atmosphere felt unique from the moment we walked in. It was decorated like an old market alley had been moved indoors, which gave it a very different feel from a typical bar. Each table had a tablet, making everything from checking the menu to ordering nice and easy.

Overall, it was bustling and exciting, so it suits a day when you want to have a lively time with friends rather than quietly sip drinks. There were lots of large groups, and I even saw tables chatting up other people! I think anyone looking for a fun Guro Digital Complex Station bar on a weekend or evening would enjoy it.

Eulji Pocha had plenty of delicious dishes to match its atmosphere, too. There was two-plus yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), spicy seafood jjoljjajang, shrimp drowned in cream, Sichuan-style crispy fried chicken, Euljiro beef tendon stir-fry, Namdo cockle salad, and more—doesn’t it all sound delicious!?

Spicy seafood jjoljjajang and French toast

We ordered the spicy seafood jjoljjajang and French toast! We also got soju and Saero Omija.

Spicy seafood jjoljjajang and drinks

The spicy seafood jjoljjajang arrived first, and its looks alone were impressive. A huge pan was loaded with black-bean sauce, noodles, and seafood, then topped generously with Cheongyang chili peppers. Once mixed, the rich sauce coated every noodle, and true to its name, this jjoljjajang had a definite spicy kick that went well with drinks. The spicy, salty sauce was seriously moreish!

There was plenty of seafood, cabbage, and other ingredients to pick up with the noodles, and the portion was generous enough to share. A sip of soju followed by a bite of spicy jjoljjajang was such a good combination.

To soothe the heat, we ordered French toast alongside it. A whole plate arrived piled with golden-brown toast and sweet toppings, offering the opposite kind of appeal from the spicy seafood jjoljjajang.

After spicy jjoljjajang, a bite of sweet, soft French toast worked surprisingly well. If choosing just one bar snack feels impossible, I think this spicy-and-sweet combination is a great way to order.

From coin snacks to dalgona: things to do at this bar

The biggest reason Eulji Pocha stayed in my memory was that there was so much to do beyond eating. When you order drinks, you receive coins, which can be used for snacks or ice cream.

Eulji Pocha’s coin snack area

There was even an area with snacks displayed like an old-school stationery shop, plus an ice-cream freezer, so browsing was fun in itself. Carrying the coins around and choosing the snack you want is oddly addictive!

There was also a space where you could make dalgona (Korean sugar candy) or cotton candy yourself. I never thought I’d be making and eating cotton candy at a bar, but there were so many little activities like this that it was much more memorable than simply drinking.

Claw machine inside Eulji Pocha

I sometimes play claw machines when I drink, and there was one inside Eulji Pocha, too. I could totally see lots of people trying it after a few drinks!

There are games that tables can join, so you can even compete with the table next to you for the first time. As everyone participates while watching the screens around the venue, the energy naturally heats up. It’s fun with friends, but I also thought it would be good for breaking the ice at a large Gudi work dinner.

You can also request a song with a message like this. Gudi Eulji Pocha, full marks for thoughtfulness!!

There’s a roulette event as well, which is fun to join once in a while as you drink. So if you’re looking for a Gudi Station bar where you can start the night having fun right from the first round, this seems like a great fit.

Eulji Pocha for friends’ gatherings and work dinners

Eulji Pocha had delicious food and drinks as a given, plus plenty to enjoy: table competitions, roulette, coins, dalgona, and cotton candy! I recommend it for a lively day out with friends, or as a Gudi bar for a work dinner with a bigger group. We were happy with the spicy seafood jjoljjajang and sweet French toast pairing, too, so if you want a more entertaining Guro Digital Complex Station bar than the usual, give Eulji Pocha a visit!
