My family and I really love Thai food! I heard there was a Thai restaurant in Guro with a proper local feel, so I went with family haha 🇹🇭✨ It's Thai Du Guro Digital Complex Branch, a well-known spot in Guro!

It's already a pretty famous Thai food spot near Guro Digital Complex Station 👀 After eating there, I totally get why.

Inside Thai Du: seating and the self-serve bar
Walking into Thai Du Guro Digital Complex Branch, the inside was bigger than I expected and the ceilings were high, so it never felt cramped. There were little Thai touches all around that made me feel like I was on a Southeast Asia trip 🌴✨ And the open kitchen gave it a sleek feel!
Tables were mostly for 2–4 people, and since we came around lunchtime the place was spacious enough for us to sit comfortably. Being a weekday lunch, a lot of office workers were there! It seems like a great lunch spot for people working in Guro 👌
The self-serve bar had pickled radish and pickled onion ready to go. The pickled onion was already sweet and tangy enough to get your appetite going, yum,,, and being able to serve yourself as much as you want was great haha.

What we ordered and how the lunch time sale works
We ordered pad thai, khao moo sap (Thai pork rice bowl), pu pad pong curry (stir-fried crab curry), and shrimp spring rolls! FYI, during lunchtime the pu pad pong curry is on a time sale for ₩18,000, so make sure to visit at lunch and try it at the discounted price!

Pu pad pong curry: the dish that empties the rice bowl
We really ate until we were stuffed that day, and to cut to the conclusion — Thai Du's pu pad pong curry is a genuine rice thief. The sweet, rich coconut seasoning went so well with the fluffy rice 🤎 It was loaded generously with soft-shell crab, super filling.
The crab was crispy outside and soft inside, so you could eat the whole thing without feeling weighed down. The curry sauce had a gentle coconut-and-milk feel along with the savory curry flavor, plus a subtle spiciness in the middle, so it never felt greasy!

Since rice is unlimited, you can eat even more~ We ordered several dishes and while ordering thought 'wait, can we really finish all this,,,,,,,,,,,?' but in the end we cleaned every plate haha. The seasoning was so spot-on that I want to go back to Thai Du in Guro again 🫶

How was the khao moo sap (pork rice stir-fry)?
Thai Du's khao moo sap is salty with umami coating every bite, best eaten with plain white rice, and once you take a bite of the meat with rice — this is Thailand right here,,

If I had to compare it to something Korean, it's like a spicy salty stir-fried pork rice bowl, but the spices and sauce give it a much more exotic taste 😋

Pad thai with the fish sauce aroma left intact
And pad thai, which I already loved to begin with! The moment I took a bite, it honestly felt better than the real thing overseas haha.

There was a generous amount of dried shrimp, so I could really pick up on that distinctive Thai fish sauce aroma.
At first bite I thought, is this a bit strong? but as I kept eating I was like ohh~ this is the flavor~ and just kept going haha.

Add the bean sprouts and shake in the ground peanuts 🥜 mix it all together and the texture gets so much better, and it's g e n u i n e l y d e l i c i o u s.
Shrimp spring rolls as a side
For a side we also had shrimp spring rolls, which were perfect when ordering another whole main dish felt like too much but you still wanted something extra 🍤

The outside was fried nice and crispy, so it was great to pick one up as a little kick in between bites of the pu pad pong curry or pad thai.
Who will enjoy Thai Du in Guro?
Thai Du in Guro leans into the distinctive spice flavors of Thai food rather than toning everything down for the Korean palate, so people who already love Thai cuisine will especially enjoy it! The place is also spacious and clean, so it's great for anyone looking for good food near Guro Digital Complex, office workers deciding on lunch in Guro, or anyone craving something a bit different that day 🙌

For me, khao moo sap 🤎 pad thai 🍜 and pu pad pong curry 🦀 were the three dishes I remember most! That's basically the whole menu, isn't it haha. If you're ever craving Thai food in Guro, Thai Du Guro Digital Complex Branch is worth a visit 🇹🇭✨
