When you want sushi and pork cutlets together in Bangi-dong

Wanting to treat the friend who came all the way to Jamsil Station for me, even though I’m heavily pregnant, I looked for a good sushi spot in Bangi-dong. That’s how I ended up at Susi Seon Bangi Branch (스시선 방이점), which has held the same spot for 13 years and had great reviews. The owner was so kind, and everything—from the pork cutlets to the sushi—was excellent, so I wanted to share it with you too.

Susi Seon Bangi Branch is within walking distance of Exit 10 of Jamsil Station or Exit 2 of Songpanaru Station, so it is a nice place to stop by after a date around Seokchon Lake!

There are counter seats for solo diners, as well as tables for two to four people for couples, friends, families, and coworkers, so lots of groups visit too. We went on a weekday, but it was lunchtime and every two-to-four-person table was full. Luckily, counter seats were available, so we sat down without waiting.

Ordering Today’s Sushi and assorted cutlets

As soon as we sat down, we looked over the Susi Seon Bangi Branch menu and wondered what to get. As you would expect from a great Bangi-dong sushi restaurant, sushi was the main attraction, but there were also plenty of other choices, including sashimi, pork cutlets, hoe-deopbap (rice topped with raw fish), udon, and memil (buckwheat noodles)!

After debating what to order, we decided we wanted both sushi and pork cutlets, so we ordered Today’s Sushi 10 pcs and the assorted cutlets.

• Today’s Sushi 10 pcs ₩13,000: flounder, salmon, tuna, king prawn, soy-marinated shrimp, scallop, crab meat, smoked duck, egg, and taco
• Assorted cutlets ₩13,000: pork loin + Boltz + cheese cutlet
• With Today’s Sushi or assorted cutlets, choose either mini udon or mini memil (buckwheat noodles)

Starting with pre-meal bibim noodles and vegetable porridge

Not long after we ordered, the complimentary pre-meal dishes arrived: sweet-and-tangy bibim-guksu (mixed noodles) and warm vegetable porridge to soothe the stomach. How did they season them so perfectly?! They were neither too salty nor too bland—so delicious.

Thanks to that, our appetites were even more awake when the mains arrived. I can’t tell you how delicious our Today’s Sushi and assorted cutlets were~ I was first surprised that the two sets, including mini udon and mini memil, came to only the ₩20,000 range altogether, and the portions were incredibly generous too *_*

Fresh Today’s Sushi 10 pcs

Susi Seon Bangi Branch was such a satisfying Bangi-dong sushi spot because the freshness was excellent too! It has been operating from the same location for 13 years, and you could see why it has been loved by so many customers.

The price was quite affordable, yet every ingredient was fresh, which made the whole meal satisfying! The portion was substantial, and the varied pieces were plated together, making it fun to choose what to eat. 🍣 My friend was very happy too!

But it wasn’t only the sushi that was good. I love pork cutlets so much that I ordered the assorted platter to enjoy several kinds. The pork loin, Boltz, and cheese cutlet all had a crisp coating, which was satisfying from the first bite, and they were so savory that I kept exclaiming over them.

The pork cutlets tasted even better than expected! The cheese cutlet was loaded with mozzarella, and the pork loin was in excellent condition too—a flavor anyone would enjoy.

Oh! And Boltz katsu had a look I had never seen before, so I ate it wondering what it would taste like. It was bursting with savory flavor, with such a delicious lingering finish that it had me smacking my lips—I enjoyed it so much.

Finishing with udon and memil

The udon and memil we had alongside the pork cutlets and sushi were excellent too,, 👍🏻 Adding noodles with broth really made everything feel perfectly balanced! The finish was perfect.
