Sindang Korean BBQ with a fresh grill for makchang: Jinseong
In short
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant by Sindang Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. I ordered 2 portions of hanwoo gopchang, 1 portion of daechang, kkakdugi yangbap, and an extra portion of makchang after waiting more than 20 minutes. Verdict: the wait is long, but the beef intestines are absolutely worth it haha.

Right by Sindang Station—how long was the wait?
It is delicious every single time I go, so I feel like this is the only place where I eat beef intestines. The wait was even longer than on my previous visit this time.
It is right outside Exit 7 of Sindang Station, literally a one-minute walk. Parking is unavailable, so I recommend taking the subway rather than driving~

There is always a wait whenever I come, but there were so many people ahead of us this time.. ㅠ Other than a few blank reservation slots, the sheet was almost full. There are lots of tables and turnover is quick, but we still waited more than 20 minutes, I think.

And when we came out, the wait was even worse.. haha Maybe everyone knows it is delicious—there were even more people than the last time I came~

Every table was full! It was a weekday too, and everyone was having drinks haha.

The basic spread and what we ordered
The basic spread comes with garlic, minari (water celery), and a chili soy sauce. I think the garlic aroma and heat are a little strong, so I eat them separately! If you cannot handle much richness, or if you love that sharp garlic kick, I recommend mixing them together~

Garlic chives! Maybe because I like bold flavors, but the chives here are just ordinary to me.

I ordered 2 portions of hanwoo gopchang (Korean beef intestines) and 1 portion of daechang (beef large intestine) first, and kkakdugi yangbap (fried rice with cubed radish kimchi) is an absolute must here, okay?! Make sure you order that too!!

They say these kimchi are made in-house: gat kimchi (mustard-leaf kimchi), chonggak kimchi (young radish kimchi), and green-onion kimchi. You can buy them too!

Hanwoo gopchang grilled for you, plus kkakdugi yangbap
There was no mini grease guard when I came before, but I noticed they have one now. As always, the server sets a timer and grills the intestines perfectly—this place is the best~!!

The soft steamed egg also comes as a basic side, and the kkakdugi yangbap arrives quickly, so you can eat that first while waiting for the beef intestines to cook haha. Oh, and I told them to leave out the garlic that usually goes on top because I do not like it. They said to just pick it out, but I guess they accommodated me—there was none! It tastes much better without garlic! I have also been to the branch near Jamsil, but they do not have it there!

The beef intestines were browned beautifully on both sides and seriously so delicious.. Daechang is usually always my number one pick, but whenever I come here, beef intestines take that spot instead haha. For every bite, you absolutely need a huge pile of chili, minari, and chives—it is even more delicious! They will give you more minari and chili if you ask.

The rice cakes here are soft and chewy too, and they are even better dipped in the soy sauce.

If you add makchang, will they change the grill too?
The person I went with wanted makchang (beef abomasum) too, so we added 1 portion. They actually replaced the entire grill with a new one and made it feel like we were starting from scratch? I loved being able to eat it fresh and clean all over again. Maybe it had been so long since my last visit that I completely forgot haha.

Honestly, I do not normally like makchang, but I eat this one from time to time because I do not usually get to enjoy it. If you like plump, tender makchang, try it alongside the beef intestines~ If you are looking for a great beef-intestine place in Sindang, or a beef-intestine spot for a work dinner, I recommend Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch—it is close to the station too!
