Looking for a beef place to use my parents' treat card after a while, I ended up at this Geumcheon-gu gem: 🩵Ddeum Sukseong Hanwoo No.9🩵

How do you park?

It's in-building parking, and you get 2 hours free! Since it's inside the mart, parking is super convenient — that's the biggest perk!
If it's your first time, just follow these steps.
- Put "Lotte Mart Geumcheon" into your navigation
- Head to basement level 2 of the Lotte Mart parking lot
- Park near pillar No. 50 (right in front of the elevator)
- Enter through the Lotte Mart entrance
- Take the elevator to the 1st floor — Ddeum is on your right when you step out
A semi-omakase using only 1++ No.9 grade
Ddeum specializes in aged hanwoo (Korean beef), using only No.9, the highest grade within 1++. What I loved most was that staff grill everything table-side over charcoal in a semi-omakase style — we just sat back and ate!><

The restaurant isn't huge, but the soft lighting and clean interior give it the feel of a proper hanwoo omakase spot!

There's both counter seating and tables. The counter seats are spaced generously and set at a comfortable height!

Side dishes and the three complimentary items
Ddeum really lives up to being a high-end hanwoo place — you look at what they call 'side dishes' and think, seriously? These are on the house?? Absolutely top-tier!

They bring out cockle salad, monkfish liver, and sushi rice to eat with the meat —

The cockle salad has a seasoning that's not too sharp, and the cockle meat is nice and plump. It was perfect for waking up your appetite before the meat!

I tried monkfish liver for the first time, and now I get why they call it sea foie gras. It just melts in your mouth. I was worried it might be fishy, but there was no smell at all.

And then they give you sushi-shaped rice so you can top it with grilled meat — you can get refills if you need more!
If you eat only meat the whole time, it gets a bit heavy eventually. But eating it with rice, you never get tired of it till the end!
There's also wasabi, salt, and other condiments to pair with it — a perfect match!

Hanwoo Special Set 500g — ₩145,000
We ordered the Hanwoo Special Set 500g, ₩145,000.

You can probably already tell from the raw meat photo — the marbling is tight like a net. You can see the 1++ No.9 grade with your own eyes.
And this place's best perk: the staff grill everything for you over the charcoal fire🔥 We literally just ate haha.

Each cut needs a different grilling time, and they handle that for you, so there's zero chance of burning the meat.
Saeu-sal, chimasal, salchisal
Saeu-sal (shoulder blade meat, literally 'shrimp meat' because of its shape) is genuinely tender. Now I get why it has such a fan base. Bite into it and the juices just burst out.

Chimasal (skirt) and salchisal (chuck flap) were also great. Chimasal can be a chewy cut, but here it wasn't tough at all!! Since it's aged hanwoo, there's even a natural sweetness, so a light dip in salt is plenty.

Maybe because it's properly aged, the meat itself tastes sweet. It's delicious even without sauce.

If you're looking for a place near Geumcheon-gu Office that does proper hanwoo, give this one a try!!!

Hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap from the review event
I joined the review event and got the hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap — you can tell how vivid the yukhoe (beef tartare) color is, right? It's so fresh it's almost unbelievable haha. There's a subtle sesame oil aroma and it tastes nutty with every bite.
The hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap is seasoned with what seems like a soy-sauce base, so it's not too strong — just the right balance. The sesame oil brings out a rich nuttiness, and the vegetables add even more depth of flavor! The yukhoe, rice, and vegetables come together as one instead of feeling separate, which I think makes it taste even better!
I have to mention the side dishes too — all the pickles (jangajji) are the owner's own homemade recipe. They're made with an eo-ganjang (fish sauce) base and the variety changes with the seasons. You could tell they put real care into it instead of just serving generic side dishes.

Honestly, a bibimbap with 1++ hanwoo yukhoe for around ten thousand won is an insane price. Come to Ddeum for lunch if you're looking for a great spot in Geumcheon-gu!
Naver reservations are available for the lunch meat menus, and for group reservations, just contact the restaurant directly.
