Jung-gu Korean restaurant beef intestines: Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang
In short
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch is a Korean beef intestine restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul, near Sindang Station. After a 20–30 minute Sunday-evening wait, I had two servings of hanwoo gopchang, one serving of makchang, and fried rice with teukyang. A hanwoo beef intestine spot near Sindang Station
I finally went out for the beef intestines I’d been craving sooo badly lately!! This is a great-value beef intestine place near Sindang Station that apparently has a wait whether it’s a weekday or weekend 💌
Hours are 12:00–23:00, with last orders at 22:00. The sign says 24 hours, but it looks like closing time has changed to 23:00. Just a heads-up!!
It’s close to Sindang Station on Lines 2 and 6, so it’s easy to visit by public transportation! Parking nearby is difficult, so I recommend taking transit haha.

What is the Sunday-evening wait like?
We arrived around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday and there was a wait! The weather had turned cool and lovely—just perfect for gopchang ⭐️

If there’s a wait, write your party size and name on the whiteboard, then wait. There isn’t a system like Catchtable that contacts you; you simply wait in front of the restaurant! There’s a waiting area and chairs, so it’s comfortable enough.

We waited about 20–30 minutes on Sunday evening!!

Special sauce and the three kimchi siblings
Once you sit down, they set out the special sauce and seasoned garlic chives. They also put up a splash guard to prevent oil splatters—such a thoughtful touch, I loved it 🫢

The special sauce seems to have minari (water parsley), minced garlic, red pepper flakes, Cheongyang chili peppers, and a soy sauce base, and it went incredibly well with the gopchang!!

That fresh, bright water-parsley aroma with the gopchang is the perfect kick ⭐️

Another secret weapon... the three homemade kimchi siblings: green onion kimchi, gat kimchi (mustard-leaf kimchi), and altari kimchi (young radish kimchi)!!
These are the kimchi siblings you need when gopchang starts feeling rich. They’re delicious on their own, and delicious grilled in the fat too..🤤 Definitely grill the green onion kimchi ⭐️

And they serve steamed egg on the house. Wow, what a rare kind of restaurant 👏👏
Ordering hanwoo gopchang and hanwoo makchang

The menu is simple: just hanwoo gopchang, hanwoo daechang (large intestine), and hanwoo makchang (beef abomasum)! For sides, there’s kkakdugi tripe rice and anchovy noodles. Seeing them offer only the gopchang they’re confident in, plus a couple of sides, made me even more curious—and trusting.

We ordered two servings of hanwoo gopchang plus one serving of hanwoo makchang. It’s hanwoo!! It’s gopchang!! It’s ₩19,000 a serving!! And isn’t the portion generous too?!! No wonder people call this a great-value beef intestine spot.

Look at all that rich filling sizzling out. Insane. The gopchang was plump, super clean with no off smell, and so good with the special pickled-water-parsley-and-garlic sauce. Who came up with the gopchang-and-water-parsley pairing? Please accept a Nobel Prize.

My husband had somaek (a soju-and-beer mix) / this pregnant woman had cola. If you aren’t pregnant and you’re holding back from drinking here? Please go home 🙏 The makchang was plump, springy, and really delicious too. Not tough, nope—bouncy, yes.

Fried rice with teukyang
We also ordered the teukyang fried rice. It’s fried rice with finely chopped kkakdugi, teukyang (beef omasum), and seasoned shredded radish! It arrives already fried from the kitchen in a hot pan, and it’s delicious even if you mix and eat it right away.

But if you press it down in the pan to make crispy scorched rice like we did, it’s evennn more delicious. Since the fried rice already has teukyang in it, you don’t need to save meat to fry with it—so you can eat all the meat you want~~~

A place this bustling, packed full, and with a wait has a reason for it..💗
A great Sindang-dong restaurant for every kind of gathering and meal: dates, family get-togethers, drinks with friends, and work dinners!!
