Gwangju Italian restaurant for seafood tomato pasta: Bueokgan Suwan

My husband and I were on a date in Suwan District and wanted brunch, so we visited Bueokgan Suwan Branch~ If you are looking for brunch in Suwan District, this is definitely a place worth noticing!

The Bueokgan sign looked neat against the floor-to-ceiling glass entrance, so I loved the atmosphere from the first impression~

An outdoor space that catches your eye before you even go in

There were outdoor tables beside the red-brick exterior! Blending with all the greenery around it, the space felt wonderfully relaxed~ I think it would be lovely to spend time outside on a nice day!

Once inside, the restaurant had a clean, stylish atmosphere~ The wood-toned furniture and white colors came together for an overall comfortable feel!

In particular, a green view spread out beyond the large full windows. I really liked the relaxed atmosphere for a meal on a date~

It has an open kitchen, so we could watch the cooking, too! If you are looking for a Suwan District brunch-date spot, this is somewhere that takes care of the atmosphere as well~

Lunch started at noon with no wait

We arrived around 12 p.m. and went straight in without waiting! It did look like there could be a wait later if more guests arrived, though~

Ordering was easy at the kiosk! We ordered the pastry soup, truffle mushroom cream gnocchi, and seafood tomato pasta~

The table was set up neatly, which put me in a good mood even before the food came out! If you are looking for brunch in Suwan District, keep the lunch-hour timing in mind~

Crisp pastry and rich kabocha squash soup

The first dish to arrive was the pastry soup~ A sheet of pastry covered the bowl, so it caught my eye right away!

When you open up the pastry, there is yellow kabocha squash soup inside.

The kabocha squash soup was rich and smooth, so it was delicious on its own~ Breaking off little pieces of the pastry and eating them with the soup made it even more filling!

It was a great warm dish to begin with when we came for brunch in Suwan District~

Chewy truffle mushroom cream gnocchi

I already tend to love gnocchi, but there are not as many places that serve it as you might expect. So whenever I see gnocchi on a menu, I almost always order it to try~

The gnocchi we ordered at Bueokgan looked delicious from the start, with its nicely browned appearance!

When I tried it, the gnocchi was chewy and went beautifully with the smooth cream sauce~

There were plenty of mushrooms, too, and they gave a nice texture alongside the gnocchi! It is a combination I love, so I enjoyed it very much~

Seafood tomato pasta with clams and shrimp

I was craving tomato pasta that day, so we also ordered the seafood tomato pasta~ The noodles were nicely coated in tomato sauce, and it came with a generous amount of seafood!

It had clams in it, too, so it was fun picking them out one by one~

The tomato sauce clung well to the noodles, making it the kind of flavor that kept me reaching for another bite!

There were large shrimp in it as well, and they made it even tastier with the noodles~

Maybe because of the seafood, this pasta had great savory depth, too! It was also a good hearty choice for brunch in Suwan District~

A brunch combination of three dishes to share

We tried all three dishes, from the pastry soup to the gnocchi and seafood tomato pasta~ Starting with the rich kabocha squash soup, then having the nutty, smooth gnocchi and tomato pasta in between, the menu combination worked so well together! It was nice to share several dishes on a Suwan District brunch date with my husband~ We left full and very satisfied!
