Ansan Korean BBQ lunch set with doenjang sulbap: Yangsimso Gojan

Lunch with a pregnant friend — why a beef restaurant?

💕 Lunch with my pregnant friend 🫢 I thought hard about what would be both tasty AND filling for her~ 👀 and landed on nutrient-packed beef 🥩 the kind with a really high repeat-visit rate~? 🔽

So we went to 'Yangsimso Ansan Gojan Branch'! 🚗 Parking was easy and the location was great, so it was a comfortable outing even with my pregnant friend haha

✨ Yangsimso is a charcoal-grilled beef specialist🔥 They have a lunch special menu plus tons of value-priced set menus, which I loved~? 👍🏻 Perfect when you want a hearty meal packed with protein and iron — the best!

The dining room and private room seating

✨ Walking in, the place was way bigger and cleaner than I expected haha We came for lunch, but I could totally see it working for dinner get-togethers or company dinners too — a solid Gojan-dong beef restaurant 🤭

✨ There was also a room-style space in the back for private dining 🫢 the tables were set up nice and wide, great for a bigger group. Looked ideal for a big family outing or a group dinner or gathering 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

✨ We had reserved ahead so we were seated right at our reserved table. It might be hard to get a seat during lunch rush or busy hours, so if you're planning a visit, I'd recommend booking through Naver Reservations! 🙌🏻

✨ There was Wi-Fi in the restaurant too, and they even had disposable aprons >< 🤎

Side dishes and the self-serve bar

✨ The side dishes came out looking neat and tidy~~ Honestly 🥩 beef is already good just dipped in salt, but having this many accompaniments means you never get tired of it and it's more fun to eat haha😋

✨ If you need more lettuce🥬 or side dishes, you just use the self-serve bar 🙆‍♀️ It was nice being able to grab as much as we needed without feeling self-conscious haha

The great pickled onion vinegar-and-mustard incident

✨ I only slept an hour so my brain was somewhere else ^^.. legendary mishap incoming.. The pickled onions came out with no sauce?? And right then a staff member brought over a sauce?? I dumped it in without thinking at all.. turns out it was the vinegar and mustard meant for the naengmyeon we ordered 🤣🤣🤣 I was so embarrassed I almost just ate it like that.. but luckily the owner noticed and brought us fresh pickled onion sauce ㅠㅠ lol

Lunch special: marinated galbisal naengmyeon set, ₩19,000 per person

✨ You order from the kiosk at each table, and since we came during lunch hours we could get the lunch special menu. We ordered the amazingly value-priced marinated galbisal naengmyeon set~! 🥩

✨ 🥩150g of beef + 🍜 water or bibim naengmyeon (cold noodles), all for ₩19,000 per person!! The portion of meat was bigger than I expected, and the color looked amazing too?!?

✨ Then they laid the meat straight onto the charcoal fire🔥 that smoky aroma hit right away, and I was starving so my eyes went wide haha Beef really does taste best grilled over charcoal 👍🏻

✨ Since it's marinated galbisal, the meat was really tender>< They cut it into bite-size pieces and grilled it over the charcoal, though since it's marinated it burns fast if left too long.. lol be careful.

✨ Perfectly grilled meat, eaten with the pickled onions. Galbisal on its own is sweet-and-salty, and it really pairs well with the crunchy pickled onions! 🫢

Turns out it's one naengmyeon per person

✨ Something I didn't realize lol we picked bibim naengmyeon for the set, and it turns out it's one bowl per person lol we accidentally ended up with one naengmyeon each 🤣

✨ But wait!! Why is this bibim naengmyeon so good!! 🤤 Eating it together with the meat is such a great combo — I caught myself saying I was full but still eating naengmyeon..

Added a doenjang sulbap with chadol

✨ Even so, I was craving rice (?) so we added a doenjang sulbap too~ We were already stuffed from the naengmyeon, but I still wanted rice haha

✨ The doenjang sulbap was loaded with chadol (thin-sliced beef brisket), and the broth itself was rich and savory — with the rice mixed into the piping-hot stone pot, it was seriously!! so filling and satisfying!!

✨ Then round two of grilling meat🔥 this time we managed not to burn it.. probably? Cooking it so there's still a hint of pink left made it noticeably more tender and juicy haha

✨ And this wasabi-mushroom sauce, or whatever it was called — you have to try this combo too 👍🏻 even I, who's not a big wasabi fan, loved this pairing!!

✨ Dipping it in salt or ssamjang (thick soybean paste dip) is obviously delicious too~~ Switching up the combos one by one, I found myself still eating even though I was so full haha

Review event and finishing touches

✨ Lastly~~ the review event! You can pick between a sausage, a drink, or ice cream — we were so full we went with ice cream for dessert 🍦 I really thought I'd burst, but somehow there was still room for ice cream…🤣

✨ And Yangsimso's nice finishing touch~ disposable mouthwash and floss to use on the way out, plus refreshing candy 🍬 really a nice touch -👍🏻

✨ Grabbed a vending machine coffee☕️ too, and that was the perfect real, real ending -💕

Final thoughts

Parking is easy, the restaurant is spacious and clean, and we ate well and filled up on value-priced menus! If I ever want beef in Ansan, this is a place I'd think of again. I really get why the repeat-visit rate is so high..👍🏻 ➡️ It also seemed like a good pick for anyone looking for a spot for a family outing, a friends' gathering, or a group dinner — this Gojan-dong beef restaurant Yangsimso 🥩🤎 If you want charcoal-grilled beef in Ansan, I recommend Yangsimso haha :)
