A good spot for a solo pork cutlet meal at Gangnam-gu Office Station

There are honestly so many restaurants around Gangnam-gu Office Station that work for lunch or dinner, thanks to all the offices nearby and the residential area close by. Especially at weekday lunchtime, office workers pour in all at once, so some places are busy enough to require a wait.

I recently had something to do near Gangnam-gu Office Station and found this well-reviewed pork cutlet spot, so I went to try it myself. I went with a friend for a weekday dinner, but it also felt like the kind of place solo diners would be very happy with at lunch.

Pork cutlets are such a familiar menu item that I often go in without huge expectations, but the thickness of the meat, the coating, and the sauce can make a surprisingly big difference. This place was more satisfying than expected: crisp on the outside, with moist meat inside. It is also practically right in front of the station, which makes it incredibly convenient.

That said, there is quite a lot of foot traffic around here, so I recommend avoiding the busiest times.

Cheongdam Kkatsu (청담까츠), Gangnam-gu Office Station Branch is practically in front of Gangnam-gu Office Station, making it perfect for a quick solo lunch or a light pork cutlet meal on the way home from work. It is on the first floor among many storefronts, and the prices are quite good for the area. Eating out is so expensive these days;;

Recommended dishes at Cheongdam Kkatsu

This is the menu at Cheongdam Kkatsu by Gangnam-gu Office Station. Along with a really wide range of pork cutlets, there are other meal options too, so I strongly recommend it. The prices even feel very affordable for the location.

• Spicy kkatsu nabe

How the spicy kkatsu nabe and Cheongdam combo cutlet tasted

Since I went with a friend and wanted to sample a variety of things, we ordered something brothy: the spicy kkatsu nabe. Seriously, it was insanely good. The portion was huge too.

The assorted cutlet platter was really well put together too. It has regular pork cutlet as well as cheese cutlet, so it is great for sharing a bit of everything.

Pollock roe mixed udon and cheese pork cutlet

We also ordered the pollock roe mixed udon. It feels a bit like cold udon, and I recommend it if you want to try a variety of dishes alongside your pork cutlet. We eat quite a lot, so we ordered it, but two adults could get by with only about two menu items.

I took a photo of the cheese stretching from the cheese pork cutlet. Excellent. It felt like the owner does not skimp on ingredients and prepares the food with plenty of them.

I wish restaurants like this would do even better at a time when eating out is so expensive, but with big companies moving in with franchise stores, it feels relatively tough for independent small-business owners.

As you can see in the photo, the kkatsu nabe has noodles even after you finish the pork cutlet, so it is plenty filling.

Pork cutlets for lunch or dinner at Gangnam-gu Office Station

If you are deciding what to have for lunch or dinner around Gangnam-gu Office Station, pork cutlets are well worth considering. Men especially tend to love good-value, protein-heavy meat dishes, so I think they would be very satisfied.

Personally, I get tired of pork cutlets quickly if they are too greasy or the meat is dry, but the combination of crisp coating and thick meat here was good, so I enjoyed it quite a lot. If you are looking for a good Gangnam-gu Office Station lunch spot or somewhere for a solo meal, I definitely recommend visiting.
