Haeundae Marine City weekday lunch crab set and takeout: Deodo Gejang

I feel like I've been going to Haeundae Marine City a lot lately. Went out for a nice pre-holiday lunch.

Chuseok is still a long way off, but I went anyway. Off to Deodo Gejang! If you're visiting Busan for Chuseok and swinging by Marine City, this place is worth a stop for a meal.

Where is Deodo Gejang in Marine City, and what are the hours?

Deodo Gejang is located at 37 Marine City 3-ro, 103, 1F, Haeundae-gu, Busan. Open year-round from 11:00 to 21:00, with last order at 20:00.

Weekday lunch at Deodo Gejang: assorted crab and pot rice set, 28,000 won per person

I visited on a weekday afternoon. The place was packed with customers so I couldn't get any interior shots. It's big and spacious. Since there were so many people, I ordered quickly haha. I got the "assorted crab and nutritious pot rice set course." The price is 28,000 won per person. I tried everything, so let me recommend the best dishes! (Just trust me on this lol)

If you leave a receipt review, they give you abalone jang (soy-marinated abalone) or fried crab. If you want to try those, I recommend leaving a review.

What comes on the table before the meal

Once you sit down, this is the basic setup: scissors, plastic gloves, a bin for crab shells, and drinking water. Spoons, wet wipes, tissues, and a bottle opener are placed next to the table.

What is in the Deodo Gejang set, and how long does it take?

The food all comes out at once. It takes about 10–15 minutes. It's a huge spread... I genuinely worried whether I could finish all this food.

Soy-marinated crab, spicy marinated crab, octopus, soy-marinated abalone, soy-marinated shrimp, quail eggs, grilled fish, bulgogi, seaweed soup, savory pancakes, doenjang stew, gim (seaweed), and other side dishes

Nutritious pot rice and sungnyung (scorched rice tea)

The rice is a nutritious pot rice.

The portion is huge too. I genuinely wondered whether I could finish all this rice haha.

Since it's cooked in a pot, they also make sungnyung from the scorched rice. Alright, let's slowly work through all of this!

I mean business when it comes to eating! Slurped it all up clean. And I made sure to mix rice into the crab shell properly.

Taking leftover soy crab home: 500 won for a container

I had some soy-marinated crab left over, so I asked for a container to take it home. The extra cost for a takeout container is 500 won. Gotta enjoy that soy crab properly again at home.

I finished everything else, down to the last of the sungnyung. I was full, but somehow I managed to eat it all.

If you're near Haeundae Marine City, or anywhere in Busan, and looking for a Korean restaurant for a gathering or to take your parents to, Deodo Gejang is a great option. If I had to pick between Deodo Gejang's soy crab and their spicy marinated crab, I'd recommend the spicy marinated crab haha.
