Grilled duck two ways near Bakchon Station: Ganaandeok Gyeyang

Trying to decide what to eat for Sunday lunch, I found myself craving duck for a bit of a health boost 😋 Today I'm introducing the place I've now visited N times — my true favorite duck restaurant near Bakchon Station in Incheon, "Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch"!!

Location and hours of Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch

• Location: 1F, 1038 Jangje-ro, Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, South Korea (428m from Bakchon Station Exit 1)
• Hours: Daily 11:00–21:50

Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch is a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 of Bakchon Station, so it's pretty accessible and I had no trouble finding it.

This is my go-to spot whenever I get a craving for duck haha.

There's a spacious parking lot, so you can visit comfortably without worrying about parking :)

Sunday opening-time vibe and seating

We visited right at Sunday opening time, and the interior was clean and well-maintained overall, which made a great first impression.

The open, floor-to-ceiling windows made the space feel airy, and the tables were spaced generously so it never felt cramped.

Seating is mostly 4-person tables, which looked well-suited for family gatherings, group get-togethers, or company dinners.

There were clean, separate men's and women's restrooms inside, which was convenient 🚻

There were also baby chairs available in one corner.

Next to the fridge, disposable aprons and bags were laid out, so grab one if you need it~

Ordering plain duck and spicy duck half-and-half — what's the price?

Each table had a tablet for easy ordering, and looking at the menu, there was a wide range of duck dishes to choose from ☺️ Since we wanted to try two flavors at once, we ordered a half order of plain grilled duck, a half order of spicy stir-grilled duck, and a Chilsung Cider.

Basic side dishes, self-serve corner, and unlimited seaweed soup

They set the table with basic side dishes first — bean sprout salad, chive salad, cabbage sauce, cabbage kimchi, pickled radish, pickled onions, lettuce wraps, garlic, and ssamjang (dipping sauce) — all neatly arranged.

There's a self-serve corner, so if you run low on side dishes or wraps, you can freely grab more :)

The hot seaweed soup is also unlimited refills haha.

Ta-da ✨️ the vivid red plain duck and the spicy stir-grilled duck half order arrive~ It looked great quality just from looking at it, and I was satisfied being able to enjoy both flavors at once~

The hot charcoal came in~ the charcoal looked in great condition 😊

When eating duck, you can't skip a cool, refreshing cider haha. It was perfect for cleansing the palate 😘

How was the plain grilled duck?

We put the plain duck on the grill first. Sizzling away and cooking up deliciously 🧡

It cooked up nicely golden brown haha. Now, let's start the real feast~

I'll try one piece of the plain duck dipped in salty salt~

The fresh duck, infused with charcoal aroma, had a chewy texture, and the more I chewed, the more the duck's savory yet clean flavor spread through my mouth, yeah~

You can also ask for mung bean porridge and get it free — it had a rich, nutty flavor that I really liked 😋 Pairing it with the duck made for an even more filling meal.

Put the fragrant perilla leaf with duck, chives, garlic, and ssamjang and wrap it up neatly for one big bite, aaam 😋

The duck had no gamey smell, and it paired really well with the cabbage sauce 😋

I also took a spoonful of the seaweed soup — the broth was deep and rich, great to sip between bites.

The spicy-tangy kimchi and crunchy bean sprouts were delicious too.

Why the spicy stir-grilled duck, my first try, became my top pick

So the flow doesn't break, let's move right into round two: spicy stir-grilled duck‼️

The sizzling sound and the vivid red visual of the spicy duck alone really stirred up my appetite 🤤

I always order plain grilled duck at Ganaandeok, so this was my first time trying the spicy stir-grilled duck, and the addictive, deeply savory spicy seasoning was really charming 🧡

The plain duck was delicious too, but personally the spicy duck became my top pick,,🫶 I kept reaching for more haha.

After finishing the duck, they brought out the foil-wrapped sweet potato that had been roasting alongside on the charcoal 🍠

The sweet potato was hot, so I blew on it and took a bite~ it was a sweet honey sweet potato, totally tasted like honey~!! Even the finish was absolutely perfect 💜🧡

Ate so much duck, gosh,,🌟 wow,, seriously about to burst..🫨 The portions were huge, and I really got my health boost that day 💪💪

Past noon, the place fills up with families

Once it hit noon, the place suddenly got busy with customers 😮😮 Since it's a duck restaurant that anyone, young or old, can enjoy without pressure, a lot of families were visiting!!

Nurungji snacks, coffee vending machine, and waiting area

They sell snacks at the counter, so I bought two bags of nurungji (scorched rice) snacks too hahaha (+₩20,000)

There's also a coffee vending machine, and marble ice cream is sold for ₩3,000 haha.

Got a cup of black coffee after the meal to cleanse the palate haha.

There's also a spacious waiting area, and there's a claw machine that kids would probably love haha.

Overall review

The restaurant overall was spacious and well-kept, which made a great first impression, and the staff were friendly and attentive even while busy, so I had a really pleasant lunch ☺️

If you're looking for a duck restaurant with no gamey smell and a clean flavor, I can confidently recommend visiting "Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch" 👍 I would definitely go back 💯
