For my mom's birthday, we had a family gathering at Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch, a well-known duck restaurant near Bakchon Station in Incheon!

Mom had been here once before and recommended it, saying the parking was great and the food was delicious, so we booked ahead and showed up right on time haha.

The atmosphere and waiting area
The restaurant was much bigger than it looked from outside, and everything was so well kept that I thought it'd be perfect for family gatherings.

The waiting area was also spacious, which I liked. Luckily it was a weekday so there was no wait, but I hear weekends get packed with a line out the door — good to know if you're planning a visit >.<

How we ordered
Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch, a well-known duck spot near Bakchon Station in Incheon, is a duck restaurant that carefully selects fresh domestic duck and grills it over charcoal. They offer everything from plain grilled to smoked and spicy stir-grilled, so there's plenty to choose from.

Even better, you can order half portions. We wanted to try both flavors, so we ordered a half of the basic charcoal-grilled duck and a half of the spicy stir-grilled duck.

Self-serve bar and seaweed soup
Here's the self-serve bar where you grab the basic banchan. It was tidy and well organized, and I loved that they had warm seaweed soup too!

I thought this place only did grilled duck, but it turns out they also have baeksuk (whole boiled chicken/duck soup) and ribs? If we like it, I'm definitely coming back to try the baeksuk next time.

I loved how neat the banchan were — spicy seasoned bean sprouts, pickled radish, pickled onion, and cabbage with the house special sauce. I was so excited for the main dish haha.

How it worked for a family gathering
Since we came as a family, it was great that we could order a variety of dishes and share. And with the tables spaced so far apart, we could talk privately without needing an actual room, which I really appreciated haha.

How the spicy stir-grilled duck and basic charcoal duck tasted
Here's the visual of the spicy stir-grilled duck. Watching it sizzle over the charcoal made my mouth water. The fat drains straight down through the grill grate while keeping that clean, light flavor — Ganaandeok's signature dish ✨

We also tried some of the basic charcoal-grilled duck from the next table, and it had a completely different charm. I'm normally not a fan of duck skin, but the meat quality here was noticeably different — you could really tell this is a dedicated duck restaurant!

The wrap vegetables at Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch were also super fresh. I wrapped the duck with pickled radish in a fragrant perilla leaf, and the combination was incredible. It felt like the first really good meal I'd had in a while.
It's a dish everyone loves regardless of age, so it's perfect for family gatherings. Everyone in the family thoroughly enjoyed it!

Dessert: roasted sweet potato and porridge
And the final treat was sweet potato roasted over charcoal. They put the sweet potatoes on the grill before you even start cooking, and eating them for dessert is amazing. They also bring out porridge at the end, but I was eating so fast I forgot to take a photo 😭

I made sure to grab some nurungji (scorched rice) sold in the restaurant to take home too. A nutrient-packed meal that's great for everything from family gatherings to company dinners with a big group — I highly recommend Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch, a top duck restaurant near Bakchon Station in Incheon 💯👏
