Interior of Sokcho Geu Badaro

The first thing I felt when I walked in was that it seemed more like a stylish, beautifully decorated café than a restaurant, haha.

The restaurant was really spacious, and the tables were nicely spread out, which made the meal more comfortable. Further inside, there was seating that felt suited to groups, so it would be nice for family gatherings or company dinners too.

High chairs were available too, so I could eat comfortably even with a baby along, haha.

There were also packaged items displayed by the entrance: soy-marinated shrimp, octopus, and abalone. They would make nice gifts for parents or friends too!

There was such a wonderful variety of side dishes, and I loved how each one felt carefully prepared and neatly presented, haha. The seasoned baby crab, zucchini namul (seasoned vegetable side dish), sweet pumpkin salad, dried radish strips, and roasted seaweed were especially delicious!

The assorted seafood set also included potato pot rice, with ginkgo nuts and mushrooms, so it had the feel of a nourishing rice dish. Later, you have to pour in water and make sungnyung (scorched-rice tea) for dessert, haha.

Trying the Seafood with Seaweed and Sauce

I tried the seafood on its own, dipped in the egg-yolk sauce, and wrapped in roasted seaweed with white rice—and because the seafood was so good, it was insanely delicious however I ate it..❤️ The shrimp were so springy and well seasoned, and it was my first time having soy-marinated octopus. It tasted fresh, and the plump octopus legs had such a satisfying chew. The scallops and abalone were so delicious too, haha.
