Anyang brunch café with thick French toast: Eggroom

In short

Eggroom is a brunch café in Dongpyeon Village, Anyang, Gyeonggi. I spent a sunny afternoon on its outdoor terrace with French toast, almond cream latte, and basil tomato ade. Verdict: the French toast is my first pick for a sweet, filling brunch.

A Dongpyeon Village brunch café for a beautiful day

Featured photo of Eggroom, a brunch café in Dongpyeon Village

I visited Eggroom (에그룸) 🥚💛, a popular Dongpyeon Village spot, for brunch on a lovely day. There are quite a few atmospheric cafés in Dongpyeon Village, but I had wanted to try Eggroom for a while because it is a café where you can enjoy both brunch and coffee. Especially with its outdoor terrace right in front, it was perfect for a sunny-day visit.

Even from afar, the yellow-accented Eggroom sign catches your eye. There are parasols and wooden tables out front, and all the greenery around them gives it a relaxed feel even in the city. The sun was out and the weather was beautiful on the day we went, so we took an outdoor table without hesitation. ☀️🌿 If you are looking for a Dongpyeon Village café with an outdoor terrace, it is a good choice for the atmosphere too!

What is Eggroom’s interior like?

Eggroom has a cute atmosphere built around white, with yellow used as an accent color. The arched spaces, round lights, and yellow details throughout made it feel as cute and bright as the café’s name.

There is also a large mirror that is great for photos, plus a cozier seating area farther inside. Rather than feeling overly decorated, the overall mood was clean and charming, making this a nice Dongpyeon Village café to visit with friends or on a date.

Brunch and drink menu

Eggroom is not just a café that sells drinks; it has a broad brunch menu, so I think plenty of people come looking for it as a Dongpyeon Village food spot too. There were more choices than I expected, including salads, eggs Benedict, pasta, gnocchi, risotto, lasagna, and French toast.

A look at the showcase desserts

There is a dessert showcase by the counter too. It had easy desserts to pair with coffee, from mini pavlovas to cookies and egg tarts. Some items were already SOLD OUT when I visited.

There were also mini pavlovas topped with colorful fruit, and their pretty appearance really caught my eye.

There were several kinds of cookies as well. The Mongttang Cookie was described as containing roasted peanuts, macadamias, dark chocolate, and more, and I also spotted a rich yellow-cheese cookie beside it.

In the end, we ordered a cookie too. It had big pieces of nuts in it, which gave it a nice bite. A dessert that is perfect for sharing alongside coffee!

How did I drink the almond cream latte?

The drink I was most excited for was the almond cream latte. It was topped with such a generous amount of cream that looked soft just from seeing it. 🤎 Eggroom also had its own guide for enjoying cream coffee deliciously.

Eggroom’s guide said to scoop up and eat the cream first, enjoy it on its own, then mix it in and drink. The smooth cream had the distinctive nutty flavor of almonds, so I would recommend it to anyone who likes sweet, nutty cream lattes. Personally, if I were choosing one drink at Eggroom in Dongpyeon Village, this is the one I would order again.

The refreshing basil tomato ade combination

Then there was the basil tomato ade, which looked unique from the start. Basil leaves floated in the clear ade, with tomatoes visible at the bottom, so it looked cool and refreshing just to see. At first I wondered, “Basil and tomato in an ade?” and was curious about the taste, but it was a refreshing drink that paired well with brunch. If you want something lighter and tangier than coffee, it is worth trying! The fried-egg-shaped smiley sticker on Eggroom’s cup was so cute too. 🍳

The thick French toast was the most satisfying dish

And the dish I was most satisfied with that day was the French toast, ₩14,000. 🍞🍌🍨 You can see how thick the toast is even in the photo, right? It comes with thickly grilled French toast, grilled banana, and ice cream. The toast was deeply golden and browned on the outside, so it looked wonderful from the start.

Adding a little cold ice cream to the warm French toast and eating it with the sweet grilled banana was such a good combination. The French toast itself was thick and quite filling rather than simply dessert-like, so it was great to order as brunch. If you are wondering what to get at Eggroom, French toast is the first thing I would recommend. Definitely one to remember if you are looking for great French toast or a brunch spot in Dongpyeon Village!

Weekend brunch on the outdoor terrace

French toast brunch enjoyed on the outdoor terrace

The weather was lovely that day, so we ate on the outdoor terrace, and personally, I thought Eggroom’s outdoor atmosphere was really nice. Eating French toast and coffee while looking at the lush green trees felt like a properly relaxed weekend brunch. 🌿 The French toast and almond cream latte pairing should be especially satisfying if you like sweet treats, while the refreshing basil tomato ade went well with the French toast when it started to feel a little sweet.

If you want brunch in Dongpyeon Village too

The Dongpyeon Village café Eggroom had cute interiors and a lovely outdoor terrace, but more than anything, its brunch menu stayed with me. The thickly grilled French toast in particular is something I would order again on another visit! Ordering it with the sweet, nutty almond cream latte and refreshing basil tomato ade made for a great combination too. It is a better fit for anyone who wants to enjoy brunch as well as a café visit, so if you are looking for a Dongpyeon Village food spot, brunch, or café, Eggroom is worth a visit. 🥚💛
