Jeju airport Korean BBQ for marinated pork ribs: Pork80

In short

Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch is a Korean barbecue restaurant near Jeju Airport in Jeju. My mother and I shared three servings of marinated Jeju pork ribs and yeolmu noodles for 65,000 won. Verdict: a generous, satisfying choice when you want marinated ribs in Jeju.

Photo related to a visit to Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch

On the first day, we took an afternoon flight, had dinner, checked into our accommodation, and it feels like that was the whole day—we just stayed in our room. On day two, I wanted to experience Jeju a little more, so I wanted lunch at a good Jeju black pork restaurant. That’s how I found Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch (포크80 제주공항점), a black pork spot near Jeju Airport! My mom was quite satisfied too, so let me introduce it right away.

Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch atmosphere and visit time

I think I had no choice but to pick Pork80 after hearing it was a truly delicious local spot featured on Choiza Local Calling. We went right at opening time, 11:30 a.m., and I was surprised that we weren’t the first customers… Even after we came in, customers kept arriving, so I thought, wow, it’s really busy even at weekday lunchtime. We found a genuinely popular Jeju restaurant! That’s what we said.

Pork80 was decorated in a hip, polished way that suits younger tastes, right down to every corner. It felt as lively as downtown Jeju City!

The interior was clean and spacious too, which I liked. If you visit early like we did, you can choose where you sit and have a relaxed meal—that’s a real advantage. They are open late too, so it’s good for dinner at night!

The restroom is inside and nicely kept as well. I especially like it when a restaurant has separate men’s and women’s restrooms indoors. Going outside is quite inconvenient, but Pork80 has none of that hassle, which I appreciated.

How to eat Nanchuk Matdon and the side dishes

I liked that there were detailed instructions on how to enjoy Nanchuk Matdon even more deliciously. Ah, just writing this post makes me want to eat it again. Then again, pork is delicious whenever you eat it!

Instructions for eating Nanchuk Matdon

The basic side dishes come set out like this. The matcha salt felt special because it was different from other restaurants. The shredded scallions, seasoned radish, and onion were nicely seasoned and delicious with the meat, and we finished all the ssam vegetables (wrap greens) too. Wasabi goes well with it, of course~ Perilla leaves and corn salad are side dishes I love as well.

I also liked being able to check the meat that would be served to us right away.

They also had premium Jeju tangerine sherbet ice cream, which looked like it would make such a wonderfully tangy, sweet, refreshing dessert after a meal.

They set down charcoal with a really strong flame, so we could cook and eat the meat quickly.

My mom said she was curious about the marinated Jeju pork ribs this time, so we ordered three servings for ₩57,000. It was 900 g total, plenty for two women. I seriously considered the most popular menu item, 600 g of Nanchuk Matdon Jeju native black pork, but I thought it would be better to choose what my mom wanted, so we ultimately picked the marinated ribs. I thought that alone might not be enough, so we also ordered yeolmu noodles for ₩8,000. Next time, I definitely want to try the signature Nanchuk Matdon!

Marinated ribs grilled over intense charcoal

All right, shall we grill the marinated ribs now? It had been such a long time since I’d grilled meat myself, so I was excited too. You know pork has to be cooked through really well, right? Because the heat is strong, it is important to keep an eye on the timing and grill it well so the marinade does not burn.

The meat was seriously so delicious that it disappeared as soon as it came off the grill… This is why we come to Jeju!

This Jeju black pork restaurant was delicious eaten on its own, and absolutely heavenly wrapped neatly in ssam vegetables.

A refreshing finish with yeolmu noodles

The yeolmu noodles were delicious wrapped with the pork ribs, and also great for ending the meal on a refreshing note. There was so much that even after sharing with my mom, we were full. I had originally planned to order kimchi fried rice, but the clean, tangy yeolmu noodles were definitely better. Such an excellent menu choice!

They provide a meat-grilling service for items other than the marinated menu, so keep that in mind if you are interested!

At Pork80, a cute dol hareubang (Jeju stone grandfather) and black pig greeted us. I want to come back again next time :)
