Dixie's is a Southern American-style restaurant near Jeju Dongmun Market, bringing the warm food culture and lifestyle of the American South to Jeju with its own local sensibility—and it is a great spot in Jeju for rice bowls.

There is the Jeju Jungang-ro Shopping Street Public Parking Lot right in front of the restaurant, so parking was easy without any worries. It is paid before 8 PM on weekdays and free afterward, while weekends are free, so keep that in mind! (There is a parking service if you visit after parking during paid hours 😊)

Dixie's atmosphere and seating

First of all, Dixie's had a distinctly Southern American feel that was a little different from the restaurants you commonly see in Jeju. From the music to the interior the moment we walked in, the overall concept was so clear that it felt really hip and full of personality!

The interior was neat and tidy overall, with a bar table plus tables for two and four, making it easy to sit comfortably depending on your group size. The space itself is not especially large, but the seating arrangement was well organized, so we could enjoy our meal comfortably!

Southern American-style dishes and QR ordering

Here is Dixie's menu. As a Southern American-style restaurant, it had an unusual and varied selection, including its signature Nashville hot chicken, chicken baskets, burgers, rice bowls, and mac and cheese.

Every table has a QR code, so you connect to it to order. Even when ordering as a group, everything goes through the table number, which was really convenient. After some deliberation, we ordered the Nashville hot chicken burger, Cajun shrimp, and grilled chicken salad!

After ordering, you help yourself to cutlery, alcohol, drinks, and water. We could simply pick up water and cutlery right away, and for alcohol or drinks, we could order by QR code and collect them without calling a staff member, which was even more convenient 👍

After a short wait, our food arrived. They explained each dish as they brought it over, including how to eat it, so we could enjoy everything even more 😊

Smoky Cajun shrimp with satisfying rice

We started with the Cajun shrimp, and the plate was filled with shrimp, onions, tomatoes, and all sorts of ingredients, so it immediately felt very generous in portion.

The plump shrimp seemed to be cooked blackening-style, with a deep smoky char and grilled flavor on the outside, while the texture was springy and lovely. The onions and tomatoes on top were crisp and fresh, and eaten with the rice underneath, they added a nutty, distinctive flavor that made this a filling meal 👍

Grilled chicken salad and Nashville hot chicken burger

The grilled chicken salad came with simply grilled chicken over fresh vegetables. The chicken had a nicely browned exterior with a subtle smoky flavor, while the inside was moist and tender rather than dry. The vegetables were crisp and paired especially well with the grilled chicken, while the savory flavor made it a delicious lighter option 👍

For our final dish, the Nashville hot chicken burger was appealing at first glance, with freshly fried crisp chicken and a thick bun. They told us to press the burger before eating it, and when I pressed down on the top, the sauce and juices flowed out—it really got the taste buds going 😁

When we tried it right away, the chicken was crisp on the outside yet moist and tender inside, making it easy to eat without any dry texture. The signature spicy, savory Nashville hot chicken seasoning had soaked deeply into the chicken, making it more intensely delicious than a regular chicken burger. The heat spread through the mouth at first, then the rich, nutty flavor of the chicken came through toward the end, so even people who cannot handle spicy food can eat this one!! (I am not very good with spicy food either, but I enjoyed it 😊)
