I wanted to leave Jeju with some pretty photos, so we visited Eoeum-ri Photo Studio in Aewol. When you think of Jeju, there are plenty of shoots where you prepare properly, almost like a wedding snap session—but I found a lovely option for people like us who just want to take a few casual travel photos. Since we could choose the snaps we wanted and use the self-photo studio too, I wanted to introduce it to anyone looking for a good-value photo studio in Aewol.

Eoeum-ri Photo Studio is in Eoeum-ri, Aewol-eup, Jeju. The stone wall at the entrance immediately gave me that proper Jeju-trip feeling. Head down below the wall and you will find a cozy studio shaped like a stone warehouse. I had pictured a typical indoor photo studio, but the space itself captures the mood of Jeju, so I loved it the moment I walked in.

The studio appears as you follow the stone wall down. It has the distinctive atmosphere of a Jeju stone warehouse, so it was fun just looking around before the shoot. Best of all, pets can visit too, so it seems like a great choice not only for family or couple photos, but also for anyone wanting to preserve Jeju travel memories with their pet.

Two snap shots and 20 minutes of self-shooting

We booked two snap shots this time. To show you the results first, we took them outdoors, and I liked them so much more than I expected! Many people come to Jeju with several outfits for something like a wedding shoot, but if you only want a few photos during your trip like we did, this seemed like a great way to do it. I loved that we could take photos that feel uniquely Jeju without spending a huge amount of time or money on a shoot.

Can you choose the Jeju snap shoot you want?

The prices were not overwhelming either. One snap shot is ₩30,000, two are ₩50,000, and three are ₩60,000—and self-studio shooting is included. Apparently, you can choose the shoot you want, including hackberry tree snaps, Jeep snaps, and silver grass field snaps. The hackberry tree snap beneath a 350-year-old hackberry tree looked especially special, since it captures both Jeju’s nature and a traditional atmosphere.

A cozy self-photo studio for about four people

Self-photo studio space suitable for about four people

The self-photo space was large enough for around four people. It looked good for friends taking friendship photos or families taking commemorative pictures. The atmosphere felt easygoing rather than overly professional, so even photo beginners like us could shoot without feeling pressured.

Everything photo beginners need for an easy shoot

What I especially loved for people who are not great at taking photos, like us, was that there was a large mirror and a tripod. Even if you do not know how to pose in front of a camera, you can check your posture in the mirror, and it was convenient to take the photos ourselves with the tripod.

There were also lots of props in the studio, including a sofa, a camera for shooting, and sunglasses. So even if you did not bring any photo props, you could use all sorts of things while taking pictures. I think it would be easy to drop by even if you suddenly decide you want photos during your Jeju trip.

There were more kinds of props than I expected. From a horse doll to motorcycles and bicycles, there were props you could actually ride for photos. We tried all kinds of poses too, and it was secretly so much fun while we were shooting! Haha.

Photo space with retro outfits and hats

They also had clothes and hats, so it was possible to take photos with a retro feel. It is a style I would not normally try, which made me think it could be even more fun to give it a go while traveling.

One space, a different mood in every photo

Photos from actual shoots were displayed on the studio walls. There was a variety, from photos taken in the studio to outdoor shots. It was fascinating how completely different the mood could be in the same place depending on the pose, props, and shooting style.

The shots we took ourselves in the self-photo studio

Couple self-shooting in front of a tripod

My boyfriend and I fussed around in front of the tripod and worked hard at taking photos. The problem was that we both laughed so much while shooting that we did not get as many decent shots as I expected… haha. Still, taking photos ourselves together on a trip was fun in itself, regardless of the results.

Of all of them, my favorite was the photo I took riding the horse doll! I kept thinking, when else would I ever take a photo like this? That made it even more fun, and because it was taken on our Jeju trip, I think it will stay memorable even when I look back at it later.

For anyone wanting a few easygoing Jeju travel photos

I would recommend it to anyone who wants casual snap photos during a Jeju trip, or couple or family photos. It seems especially well suited to people who want to choose only the shots they want and keep the cost reasonable instead of doing a long professional shoot. Pets are welcome too, so it is worth considering if you are traveling in Jeju with your pet and looking for a photo studio. If you are photo beginners like us, I also recommend freely using the props in the self-photo studio.

Eoeum-ri Photo Studio was a place where we could make special Jeju memories without feeling burdened. I liked that we could choose from just one snap shot, taking only as many photos as we wanted, and that the self-photo studio was included too. In particular, the option to choose Jeju-like locations such as the hackberry tree, Jeep, and silver grass fields meant we could take photos unlike ordinary indoor shots. Even though we are not very good at taking photos, we had fun using all sorts of props, making it a different kind of experience during our Jeju trip. If you are looking for a good-value Aewol or Jeju photo studio, it could be nice to add to your itinerary :)
