Is it close to City Hall Station Exit 10?

Huhugwan (후후관) is right there after about a one-minute walk straight from Exit 10 of City Hall Station on Lines 1 and 2. It is on the second floor of the building opposite Korea Ginseng Chicken Soup, so it was super easy to find! It is so close to the station that it is a great spot to stop by after work or arrange a meet-up.

What are the lunch and dinner vibes like?

The interior had such an exotic atmosphere! At lunch, it is a neat dining space, then in the evening the lighting dims and it turns into a cozy, atmospheric place that is perfect for a drink. The seating is spacious too, so it looked great for City Hall Station office dinners or gatherings with friends or a date.

Huhuchuan mala hot pot taste

Huhuchuan (mala hot pot, ₩32,000) As a mala lover, I ordered Huhugwan's Huhuchuan, one of its main dishes, today! A deeply simmered broth comes packed with colorful ingredients neatly threaded onto skewers—what an amazing visual, right?!

The complimentary sides were roasted peanuts and danmuji (pickled yellow radish). The peanuts had plenty of sugar on them, and they were delicious.

The Huhuchuan broth had that gently spreading, numbing mala fragrance, but it was not just a harsh heat that attacked the tongue. It was a spicy, substantial, deeply flavorful broth that felt refreshing all the way through! Tender vegetables and soft meat slipped right off each skewer, fully soaked with the broth's savory flavor. There were lots of different skewers, and every bite burst with juices in my mouth, making it fun to try them one by one.

I paired it all with a refreshing glass of draft beer! I also received spring rolls and fried mala dumplings through the Naver receipt-review event and gave them a try. The fried mala dumplings were seriously delicious. They had a subtle mala aroma, so make sure to get them when you visit Huhugwan.
