I visited Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch, a well-known noodle restaurant in Seongbok-dong, Suji. It's pretty famous near Seongbok Station for jjolmyeon (chewy cold noodles) and noodle dishes in general, and it really does draw enough customers to create a wait at mealtimes. After eating there myself, I get why it's known for noodles. First off, the noodles themselves are delicious — not thin and limp, but plump and chewy with really great texture. And for dishes that come with broth, it's not just the noodles that shine; the broth is quite good too.
Where is Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch, and where do you park?
Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch is located at 1F 104, Seohee Star Hills, 80 Seongbok1-ro, Suji-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi. Park in the Seohee Star Hills basement lot and come up to the 1st floor. You can't see it from the main road — the storefront faces toward Seongbokcheon Stream. It's not far from Seongbok Station or Suji Lotte Mall, about a 5-minute drive.

Here's the exterior of Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch, this Seongbok-dong noodle restaurant. Among all the shops in the Seohee Star Hills complex near Seongbok Station, Chilseong Jemyeonso clearly had the most people. There seems to be a lot of waiting during mealtimes — even as I was leaving after my meal, there was quite a line. If you're planning to visit during mealtime, it's best to plan for the wait.

This is the interior of Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch. It has a bright, clean atmosphere that fits a noodle restaurant well. Table turnover seemed fairly quick. It looked good for family meals and dining with kids, and I also saw some people eating solo.

Chilseong Jemyeonso's menu and the four dishes we ordered
Here's the menu at Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch, this Seongbok-dong noodle restaurant. Jjolmyeon, udon, and noodle soup are the signature dishes, but there's also pork cutlet, side dishes, and set meals available. I ordered bibim jjolmyeon, the buckwheat soba set, Chilseong seafood yaki udon, and spicy hangover fresh noodle soup.

Bibim jjolmyeon: spicy chewy cold noodles
First up was bibim jjolmyeon, Chilseong's signature dish. The noodles were really plump and springy.

It came loaded with vegetables, and the noodles had that satisfying chewy bounce right in your mouth. They apparently use their own house-made sauce, and it had a sweet, tangy, spicy balance that all came together really well. Both the noodles and the seasoning are delicious — that's clearly why it's Chilseong's signature dish.

Pan buckwheat soba set and pork cutlet
Second came the buckwheat soba set. The noodles had such good texture on their own that the kids said they were tasty even eaten plain, without dipping in the broth.

But dipping the noodles into the salty broth and swirling them around was also delicious — the cool broth and chewy noodles together were great.

The pork cutlet was thick and crispy — really good! It would honestly be worth ordering on its own.

Chilseong seafood yaki udon
Third was the Chilseong seafood yaki udon. The udon noodles were different from typical udon — they didn't go soft easily, which made them taste even better.

Eating the seafood and vegetables together gave the dish a rich, satisfying texture — there was plenty of both. There was a slight charred, smoky note, but it wasn't spicy at all — a flavor kids can eat too.

Spicy hangover fresh noodle soup
This is the spicy hangover fresh noodle soup (eolkeun haejang saengmyeon guksu). Unlike the previous three dishes, this one came with warm broth, which I really appreciated. The noodles weren't dried noodles but fresh-made ones.

The broth had a clean, savory depth — not just spicy for the sake of being spicy, but a genuinely clean kind of heat. I think I'll keep thinking about this broth. There's a reason it's called a 'hangover' soup.

Is Chilseong Jemyeonso good with kids?
Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch also offers free rice and bread for children. Bringing kids along makes menu choices easier. This Seongbok-dong noodle restaurant has jjolmyeon, udon, and soba, plus pork cutlet and various side dishes, so there's something for everyone to choose easily. The overall vibe felt like a comfortable neighborhood spot, great for a casual meal with family or friends.
Craving noodles near Seongbok Station in Suji?
If you're craving noodles, Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch in Seongbok-dong, Suji is a place I'd recommend without hesitation. The bibim jjolmyeon was definitely delicious, and the seafood yaki udon and spicy hangover fresh noodle soup both exceeded expectations. Every noodle dish here was good.
If you're visiting during mealtime, it's best to expect some wait. Even when I went during an early lunch hour, Chilseong Jemyeonso clearly had more customers than any other shop in the complex. If you're in Suji or near Seongbok Station craving chewy noodles like jjolmyeon, soba, or udon, I'd recommend a visit.
