YES Kids Zone family meal with abalone risotto at Gijang outlet

Since we were inside the outlet, I figured we'd just grab a quick bite, but once we stepped in, I found a menu ranging from pasta to risotto to pizza — a genuinely good spot for a family meal in Gijang. We picked carbonara, abalone cream risotto, and jambon pizza, and each one had a distinctly different charm! Where exactly is Bueokgan?

Bueokgan sits in the very back corner of NORTH 1F at Busan Shinsegae Premium Outlets. It's just inside the escalator in front of the UGG store, so it wasn't as hard to find as I expected. There's a wine shop and a SYSTEM store to the right, which makes it easier to remember.

Being able to eat right within our shopping route made it an easy pick when hunting for a good restaurant at the Gijang Shinsegae Premium Outlets.

Is it good for a family meal with kids?

Walking in, it felt more like a calm, proper restaurant than a typical outlet food spot.

Seating ranges from 4-person tables to 8-person tables, so it looked like a solid option not just for families with kids but also for bigger groups or gatherings.

What was especially welcome for us, visiting with kids, was that it's a YES Kids Zone! Baby chairs and kids' tableware were ready to go, which made dining with a young child feel a lot less stressful.

This felt less like a place to just quickly refuel while shopping and more like a proper Gijang restaurant where a family can sit down and actually enjoy the meal together.

What's on the menu?

The menu had more variety than I expected. From napa cabbage Caesar salad and truffle gnocchi to kung pao pilaf, jambon pizza, and Bueokgan's own steak — plenty of choice even if everyone in the family wants something different. We ended up picking dishes that seemed easy for the kids to eat too.

There were especially many pasta options, so if you're a pasta lover, this is a Gijang pasta restaurant worth keeping an eye on.

Carbonara, ₩19,000 — a hit with the kids too

First up, the carbonara at ₩19,000, which we picked to share with the kids.

A familiar combination of bacon and mushroom in cream sauce, but the savory, smooth cream flavor really came through.

The kids ate it well too, probably thanks to the mild, creamy sauce. For families looking for a Gijang pasta restaurant, this is a relatively safe pick.

Abalone cream risotto, ₩20,000 — rich flavor done right

Personally, the one that stuck with me was the abalone cream risotto at ₩20,000.

The abalone innard sauce combined with the cream made for a rich, savory flavor, and with abalone and clam meat mixed in, there was a nice bite to it too. The crispy fried enoki mushroom on top was a great textural accent against the smooth risotto.

Jambon pizza, ₩24,000 — a sweet-and-salty combo that works

The jambon pizza was ₩24,000. It caught my eye visually the moment it arrived.

A pizza baked with jambon (ham) on top, finished with honey and pistachio — the salty, sweet, and nutty flavors kept building on each other.

If we'd only ordered the pasta and risotto, it might have felt a little lacking, but putting this in the middle and sharing a slice each made the whole family spread so much more satisfying.

Why this worked so well for a family meal while shopping

Visiting in person, what I appreciated most was being able to handle both shopping and eating on the same route. Getting back in the car and driving somewhere else to find a restaurant with kids in tow is always a hassle, and with pasta, risotto, and pizza all on offer, this is one I'll remember as a solid pick at the Gijang Shinsegae Premium Outlets. Rather than just a quick bite inside the outlet, it was a proper Gijang Western-food restaurant where the family could pick dishes and share a real meal — Bueokgan. Next time, I'd love to try the truffle gnocchi and the Bueokgan steak that we missed this round.
