Pork cutlets and cold soba in Hwaseong: Kkot Gatsu
In short
Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch is a pork cutlet restaurant near Wangbaesan in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. I ordered the cheese-and-tenderloin cutlet set and cold soba set, enjoying juicy meat, springy noodles, spacious table spacing, and a self-serve sauce bar. Verdict: the cheese and tenderloin cutlet balance was excellent.

I’m on a diet, but I couldn’t resist the look of it and went for pork cutlets at Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch (꽃가츠 동탄본점)! It was so good that I have no regrets.
Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch location and hours

Hours are daily from 11:00 to 21:00, with a break from 15:00 to 17:00. It is in a commercial area near Wangbaesan in Dongtan 2, and takes 20 minutes by bus from Dongtan Station.
This pork cutlet restaurant received the 2026 Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation Outstanding Business Award—and it has won it three times in total, in 2022, 2023, and 2026!
A restaurant that drew a weekend wait

There are more than 10 tables inside, with plenty of space between them. Maybe because the ceiling is high, too: pork cutlet restaurants usually have a slight oily smell, but this one was well ventilated and never felt stuffy.
Even though I visited just after the weekend lunch rush, I got the last table. A wait started right after that, with people lining up. You could really feel how popular it is with nearby residents.

There are separate restrooms for men and women inside, which made things convenient. I also looked at the visit autographs from famous comedians displayed beside the counter, haha.

The self-serve bar has sauces to suit your taste, so you can take as much as you want without feeling self-conscious! The standout was cumin sauce. I had only seen it at lamb-skewer places, so finding it at a pork cutlet restaurant felt new.
What came with the cheese-and-tenderloin cutlet and cold soba sets

After debating for ages between the premium loin and the cheese-and-tenderloin set, I chose the latter! It lets you have both tenderloin and cheese cutlets. (Yes, I’m on a diet.) My fiancé is a cold-soba boy, so he ordered the cold soba set.

So satisfying. The moment it arrived, I thought, “Ah, I ordered well.” Before the food came, I had been watching dishes served to other tables and wondering what those round things were. Turns out they were the tenderloin cutlets, haha. One arrived opened up and one was still pressed together, looking exactly like a round cutlet ball.

The cheese-and-tenderloin cutlet and cold soba sets. The cutlet set comes with 2 cheese cutlets, 4 tenderloin cutlets, rice, cabbage salad, and sauce; the cold soba set comes with cold memil (buckwheat noodles) as the main dish, 4 tenderloin cutlets, and sauce!

Juicy tenderloin cutlets and pleasantly chewy cold soba
The tenderloin cutlets were the kind of delicious that turned me into Giyeong devouring bananas in an instant. They were moist tenderloin cutlets cooked just right, with juices bursting out on the first bite ✨
My fiancé is working his way through cold soba around the country, so he gave it a strict review. He said the seasoning and sweetness were balanced, and that the grated radish and wasabi worked well together—haha, it passed. I care a lot about noodle texture, too, and the buckwheat noodles were nicely firm and chewy!

Cheese cutlets eaten before they cooled
You know, cheese cutlets need to be eaten before they cool. Sometimes there is too much cheese, or the meat in a cheese cutlet is dry, but Kkot Gatsu has great balance. My fiancé and I shared them, stretching the cheese out like we were competing to eat in a commercial.
As I ate, I kept thinking I want to come back and try the premium loin cutlet next time. (Thinking about what to eat while eating.)

There were many families with children in the restaurant, and there are fruit lollipops ready at the register, too! My fiancé had one as a palate cleanser and smiled because he liked it so much that he looked like an elementary-school student.
I recommend Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch to anyone looking for a great pork cutlet restaurant for families, near Dongtan 2, or in the Mok-dong commercial area of Dongtan! I’ll be going often after the wedding ✨
