These dachi seats look great for a casual solo drink while soaking up the atmosphere. Sure enough, several other solo customers were around that day.

On the second floor there's a private room-style space, which would be nice for a couple's date.

You can grab whatever you need yourself at the self-serve bar.

Orders were placed by checking the menu through a QR code.

The menu was really varied by category — skewers and fried items, seafood and noodles, sashimi, nabe (hot pot), and side dishes. There was also a range of sake plus beer, soju, and other drinks, so I spent a while deciding what to order.

The cabbage pickle that comes as a basic side dish is served in a sweet-and-tangy sauce, which was a unique touch.

The tonic highball is basically a standard highball, and it seemed like a good pick for a light solo drink.

The pork belly yakiudon came out first.

It arrived piled high on the plate, with the yakiudon noodles, vegetables, and pork belly all coming together in a salty, delicious way — a proper drinking snack.

Best of all, the pork belly is grilled just right, and wrapping it in bok choy made me think it would also be great with a bowl of rice instead of just as a drinking snack.

Packed full inside, it had both that juicy burst and a chewy texture, with the juices running out so much that I nearly wanted to order a beer to go with it — a proper drinking snack.
