Wine bar near Dongmyo Station with self-serve snacks: Dongmyo Market
In short
Dongmyo Market (동묘마케트) is a vintage-style Western-food bar and wine bar in a Changsin-dong alley, a three-minute walk from Dongmyo Station in Jongno, Seoul. The order at Dongmyo Market was whole-bacon garlic cream pasta at 19,000 won, bacon kimchi fried rice at 16,000 won and a Hoegaarden draft at 6,500 won, alongside a separate self-serve snack bar where guests pick their own chips and cup noodles. It is one of the cooler bars in Seoul for carrying a night from dinner into second and third rounds.

I went to a great-vibe Western food spot in Dongmyo, and it turned out to be perfect for dinner or for a drink haha🤭 It's close to Dongmyo, Dongdaemun, and Sindang, and has such a unique atmosphere that I want to recommend it — here's my review of Dongmyo Market.
Where is Dongmyo Market, and what are its hours?
Dongmyo Market is a 3-minute walk from Dongmyo Station and a 4-minute walk from Dongdaemun Station. It's also close to Sindang and Changsin stations, so accessibility is pretty good👍
☑️ Nearby places worth visiting: Changsin-dong Toy Street / Dongmyo Flea Market / Sindang-dong Tteokbokki Town / Sindang Central Market / Heunginjimun Park

Even the exterior has that vintage feel that matches Dongmyo's old alley atmosphere! It has a retro, exotic vibe and is open from 5pm into the late evening, so it's great for dinner or drinks.
Inside Dongmyo Market: vintage interior and seating

True to its name, Dongmyo Market has a market-or-pub kind of vibe that felt refreshingly new. It's the kind of atmosphere you'd expect from an American Western movie👍 I went on a weekend evening and it was nearly full, so I took my photos on the way out... I guess a great-vibe place always gets found, even down an alley.

There are plenty of tables for 2-4 people and a room that's great for gatherings, so it works for dates, friend meetups, and group hangouts alike. Naver and Catch Table reservations are both possible, so it might be worth booking ahead on weekends!
From chips to cup noodles: the self-serve snack bar

On one side there's a separate snack bar where you can pick out simple bar snacks yourself, so it'd be great as a second or third round spot too🥨

They even had cup noodles⁉️ Drinks followed by ramyeon (instant noodles) to finish the night off — perfect.
What can you drink at Dongmyo Market? Wine, beer and non-alcoholic options

Wine is the main offering, but there's also a wide range of non-alcoholic drinks, soju, beer, and more👍

Further inside there's an even bigger wine selection. The prices are reasonable too, so I'd recommend it🍷
Dongmyo Market menu and how self-ordering works

From the main Western dishes to simple snacks, the menu has a nice range~
- Self-service establishment
- All orders placed at the counter
- Payment made all at once when you leave
- Give your table number at the counter when ordering drinks or snacks

Ordered the cream pasta, kimchi fried rice, and a beer🍝🍻
Whole-bacon garlic cream pasta and bacon kimchi fried rice
Whole bacon garlic cream pasta: ₩19,000 Bacon kimchi fried rice: ₩16,000

The cream pasta is a rich, thick pasta topped with bacon. It comes with plenty of sauce and a serving size generous enough for two, which I loved🥹
The thick-cut bacon is the kicker! The pasta is delicious even on its own, but piling bacon on top sent the savory flavor through the roof👏 I had it with beer, and it was fantastic as a drinking snack too.
The kimchi fried rice had a fusion feel to it. It's a blend of Korean and Western style, and looked so appetizing just from the visuals that I was excited👍 Tangy-spicy kimchi fried rice topped with a fried egg, chewy bacon, and fresh arugula — familiar yet new, and very satisfying. It paired well with the Western dishes like the pasta too, so it'd be great to order together whenever you're craving rice~
Hoegaarden draft and the G'day Mate cocktail
Hoegaarden draft: ₩6,500 G'day Mate: ₩9,800

The Hoegaarden draft is smooth and goes down easily, while G'day Mate has a bright tropical fruit character, so I'd recommend it if you like ale-style beers!
Is Dongmyo Market worth a visit? Final verdict
From the atmosphere to the way you order, Dongmyo Market felt refreshingly different, which made it fun. I'd recommend it to anyone who loves a vintage vibe like me, or who's looking for a great-atmosphere bar in Dongmyo~
- A restaurant-bar combo near Dongmyo and Dongdaemun
- Menu ranges from Western dishes to simple snacks
- Exotic, vintage atmosphere
