Sindang cocktail bar with fig cocktails and linguine: Plot

In short

Plot is a cocktail bar in Sindang-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, serving inventive drinks alongside dinner dishes. I tried a fig-leaf-oil cocktail, an 8% Ratafia Cobbler, fried meatballs, garlic confit linguine, tiramisu, and grappa. Verdict: a lovely choice for quiet conversation and thoughtful pairings.

A delightful start with distinctive cocktails

Sindang bar Plot: a delightful start with distinctive cocktails

Once seated and settled into the atmosphere, cocktails were the very first thing I ordered. From the many options, I chose the two drinks that piqued my curiosity most.

Two cocktails ordered at Plot

Ugly Fig

This was not the usual fig-syrup flavor—the drink reportedly contains oil extracted from actual fig leaves. Perhaps that is why, as I brought the glass to my lips, a fresh, delicate grassy scent and the distinctive fragrance of figs bloomed so elegantly. Its fragrant, smooth texture made it an enticing drink I kept reaching for.

Ratafia Cobbler

With an ABV of 8%, this is a cocktail that even those who do not drink much can enjoy comfortably. Built on Ratafia Rossi with pineapple and lemon, it had a wonderfully sweet-tart, juicy appeal. It awakened the appetite so refreshingly that it was a perfect aperitif.

Crispy fried meatballs and linguine

As I was happily sipping my cocktail, the first dish I had ordered, fried meatballs, arrived. Meatballs often come tender after being braised in sauce, but these were fried crisp: crunchy outside, with meat juices packed inside.

I piled the crispy meatballs with a generous amount of purée, its deep sweetness drawn out by slowly cooking onions, and the meat’s savory richness was amplified.

Next came the aglio e olio linguine. It uses Rustichella linguine, a premium Italian pasta, so with every bite there was the nutty flavor of wheat itself, along with a pleasantly chewy, springy texture.

Long-cooked garlic confit was added too, so the oil had absorbed garlic’s deep sweetness without any heat. It was classic, yet absolutely not ordinary—a dish with real depth.

Finishing with tiramisu and grappa

Not wanting the meal to end, I added tiramisu for dessert. Soft mascarpone cheese cream sat generously atop a moist sponge soaked through with rich espresso.

I enjoyed the moist tiramisu for dessert, generously dusted with cocoa powder and topped with a cute little mint leaf.

The after-dinner drink with the tiramisu was grappa, a traditional Italian spirit. It is made by distilling grape skins, seeds, and other remnants left after winemaking, and its distinctive fragrance and clean finish make it a drink I occasionally have after a meal.

Plot near Sindang Station was a wonderful place with the full package: high-quality food that was anything but predictable, a cocktail lineup full of character, and friendly service. You could glimpse the detailed care put into every dish, making it a time that delighted both the palate and the eyes.
