Aged sashimi platter and Hibiki highball at Nuridam, Sindang bar

In short

Nuridam is a sashimi-focused izakaya bar in a back alley near Sindang Station Exit 1 in Jung-gu, Seoul. The writer ordered the medium aged sashimi platter (₩46,000) and a Hibiki highball (₩16,000), wrapping salmon, flounder, tuna from Noryangjin's dawn market and 1++ Korean beef yukhoe sashimi from Majang-dong in seaweed. Prices run a bit high, but the food, vibe and service were all strong enough to make this a repeat visit.

Nuridam location and how to get there, an izakaya bar near Sindang Station

10 Toegye-ro 81-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul, 1st floor. Nuridam is a well-known izakaya bar in the neighborhood for Sindang Station food and Sindang Station drinks, just a 3-minute walk from Sindang Station Exit 1.

Come out of Sindang Station Exit 1, go through the small alley on the right, and you'll see the store right on your left. (1 minute walk)

Wide, long exterior of Nuridam seen at the end of the alley

Once you pass through the narrow alley, you'll see a wide, long, great-vibe Japanese-style bar near Sindang Station right in front of you.

It's popular for dates, group dinners, engagement gatherings, and evening meals, and group bookings are available for up to 40 people. If you're driving, I'd recommend the nearby Hwanghak Children's Public Parking Lot. Search 'Nuridam' on Naver Maps for the exact location~!

Last order is pushed back to 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, and 12:30am on the other days.

Sadly there's no parking ㅠㅠ If you'd like to park, please use the Hwanghak Children's Public Parking Lot, which is 3 minutes from the store >> that's what the sign said!

Round and round, and back to Nuridam again

Of the izakaya bars around Sindang Station, this was the one with the most people. We were wandering around trying to figure out where to go for round two, and ended up walking into Nuridam, the place with the most people haha

Hip vibe (hip songs playing nonstop) inner dancing to the beat is possible haha. Great for catching up with friends you haven't seen in a while. Relaxed, easygoing atmosphere.

The Nuridam sign is stuck big and bold on the picture window. You can see people gathered in twos and threes, laughing and chatting, and even walking by I thought 'oh, there are a lot of people there, why is that place so busy?' While looking for izakaya bars, we wandered deep into the market area, went round and round, and came back to Nuridam again haha

Tabling waitlist machine placed in front of the store
Nuridam's menu board set up by the door

I know there's usually a bit of a wait here. The Tabling waitlist machine is outside, and the menu board is by the door too, so it's nice to check what to order while you wait.

It's split into two main areas. There's also a section screened off by an inner wall. Everyone's clearly here comfortably with friends~ vibe

What we ordered and the prices

  • Nuridam aged sashimi platter (medium) ₩46,000
  • Hibiki highball ₩16,000

Aged sashimi is the main event here. There's also futomaki, yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), salmon sashimi, and lots of soup dishes. All great as drinking food haha

Why I picked the Hibiki highball

Suntory highball is the popular pick for highballs, but I love Hibiki, and since they had a Hibiki highball, I went straight for it.

Hehe... I love Japanese whisky. If you're starting out with Japanese whisky, try Yamazaki 12 first, then move on to Hibiki, it's a safe bet.

Woody-toned table setting with the Hibiki highball

HIBIKI is the best~ ~ ~ I love that woody note in everything, whether it's the food, the space, or the aroma.

Wonyoung unnie > < .. ((if she's pretty, she's unnie)) with her bangs down she looks so baby-faced hahaha. They serve the sashimi with sajo laver, and wrapping it in the seaweed is the fun part. If you run out of seaweed, just ask for more!

How was the aged sashimi platter, medium size

The moment we've been waiting for, the aged sashimi ~! haha Salmon, flounder, tuna, 1++ Korean beef yukhoe sashimi, flounder fin, and more. Chewy, rich, delicious aged sashimi, so good.

The portion was really generous. They gave us nice, plump pieces, which I appreciated. And the fin was the tastiest part haha

Vividly colored aged sashimi from the Noryangjin dawn market

Look at that beautiful color! Turns out it all came from the Noryangjin dawn market. Freshness guaranteed haha

1++ grade Korean beef yukhoe sashimi from Majang-dong
Yukhoe sashimi with garlic and gochujang sauce

The 1++ Korean beef yukhoe sashimi and its sauce

The Korean beef yukhoe sashimi is grade 1++, brought in from Majang-dong, they told us. I said the seaweed was the highlight earlier, but that sauce is the second highlight. I hope you dip the yukhoe sashimi into that sauce, a mix of garlic, gochujang, and chopped green onion.

The Hibiki highball ~ they poured it nice and strong, which I loved. It was great when I had Hibiki at a Korean beef grill omakase place too, and it turns out it pairs quite well with sashimi too . .

Who I'd recommend this to

  • ✔ A relaxed drink with a friend !!
  • ✔ You love aged sashimi ~~~~~
  • ✔ Want to pair Hibiki with sashimi?

Pros

  • ✔ Staff were kind and quick! They gave us a blanket too. If it's cold, they'll adjust the AC for you
  • ✔ Food comes out incredibly fast

Cons

  • Parking is a bit inconvenient
  • Prices are on the higher side
  • Weekend waits happen

A really nice spot to casually stop by for sashimi and a drink. Food, atmosphere, and service were all satisfying, and even factoring in the price, I'd like to come back~!
