In short
J's Pot Magok Branch is a hot pot restaurant in the basement of Coex Magok Tower A, near Magongnaru Station in Gangseo, Seoul. Beef set ₩24,000 + handmade meatballs ₩2,500

This was my first visit to J's Pot Magok Branch, and I wanted to try the signature dishes, so I ordered the beef set and the meatballs!

The beef set comes standard with beef, vegetables, mushroom mix, corn noodles, and shrimp balls! They bring the broth out quickly and the burner is super powerful, so it's bubbling right away — the broth smells amazing.

The vegetables and mushrooms come in a nice variety, and the beef quality is good and tender too, haha. There wasn't much fat, so it was clean and light — exactly what I wanted!
The beef portion was plenty even without adding more, and it cooked almost instantly once I put it in, so no waiting — just eat right away. Since the meat isn't too fatty, the broth stayed clean too, which I really liked about the beef!

The shrimp balls are included in the set and were super chewy — once cooked, they turned bouncy! I expected the balls to have an odeng (fish cake) kind of texture, but you can really feel the shrimp — mostly minced shrimp with almost no flour, it seems.
The meatballs were made of pure meat packed together, and again barely any flour, which I loved! Kind of a hand-rolled-meat feel, haha.

The panda glass noodle dish, a kick from J's Pot Magok Branch... I got it as part of a review event! It's super cute, and the taste matches the visuals. Chewy and bouncy — so good, I'm tearing up ㅠㅠ
I didn't expect much from the corn noodles, but they were chewy, with a texture a bit like thinner jjolmyeon (chewy noodles). Calling them corn noodles somehow makes them feel healthier too, haha. The noodles were thin and didn't get soggy, which I liked.
Menbosha 4P ₩17,000 — the fat menbosha

Top of the list of menbosha I've ever eaten in my life... the menbosha at J's Pot Magok Branch comes as four fat, chunky pieces. Each one is fist-sized, about a finger's height thick, and jam-packed with shrimp — incredible.
The fried bread exterior is super crispy — piping hot when fresh out, and the combo of crunch plus clean tartar sauce is so good, with the shrimp keeping its bouncy texture.

The shrimp is the main character here, not the fried bread — the bread just upgrades the flavor even more. The crispy-outside, juicy-inside balance is spot on — I could probably eat this whole thing by myself!!
You really have to try this menbosha...
Orange chicken ₩16,000

Surprising find — orange chicken! Orange and chicken? Might sound unusual, but it's actually a fairly well-known fusion dish.

The fried coating is crispy yet chewy, almost like glutinous rice, and the tangy sauce pairs really well with the chicken. Real orange is used, so it's less greasy and refreshing, haha. The meat itself is juicy and tender too, making it a great drinking snack~!
In summary
- J's Pot Magok Branch near Magongnaru is great for solo dining too, with its single-serving sets
- Upscale atmosphere and spacious interior make it a good choice for a company dinner near Magongnaru
- With parking support, it's a convenient restaurant near Magok Coex to drive to
