Ordering double pork cutlet and spicy cheese cutlet at Dal and

In short

Gyeongyangsik Dal and Sixpence Main Branch is a Western-style pork cutlet restaurant in Dong-gu, Busan, five minutes on foot from Busan Station, running for over 30 years. On a weekday at 2:30pm, a window seat table ordered the double pork cutlet (₩13,000) and the spicy sweet potato cheese cutlet (₩13,500), along with old-style soup, thinly spread rice on a plate, and kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi). The spice level was mild enough that even people who dislike greasy food or kids could enjoy the spicy cheese cutlet without any trouble.

Great-value lunch near Busan Station: Dal and Sixpence

Hello! As a professional Busan traveler, I want to recommend a restaurant near Busan Station where you can eat well without spending much! It's a pork cutlet place — everyone's soul food.

Having held its spot for over 30 years, just five minutes on foot from Busan Station, the flavor here is guaranteed. It's a spicy cheese pork cutlet spot where you can really taste handmade gyeongyangsik (Western-style Korean) pork cutlet!

It received an excellence rating two years in a row in the 2026 Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation for pork cutlets in Dong-gu, Busan, so I had high expectations for the taste! We visited around 2:30pm on a weekday and got a window seat! Being just 5 minutes from Busan Station, it's perfect for a hearty meal before catching a train!

It was drizzling a bit, which added such nice atmosphere!

Old-style soup and sprinkling pepper

When you order, they bring you old-style soup too — add some pepper on the side and it tastes just like the Ottogi soup I used to eat as a kid, so nostalgic! Perfect to have before the meal!

While we're at it, try imitating chef Choi Hyun-seok. Why, you ask?

Rice spread thinly on a plate, and kkakdugi

Rice is a must with pork cutlet! Interestingly, Dal and Sixpence serves rice separately on a plate — a wide bowl with the rice spread thin — and it's actually delicious to scoop up this way! Chewy and satisfying, definitely get an extra serving of rice.

The kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi) was the perfect kick between bites of pork cutlet! Korea's guaranteed-winner pork cutlet side dish, kkak. du. gi.

How spicy is the spicy sweet potato cheese cutlet?

The spicy sweet potato cheese cutlet comes with sweet potato mousse on top of the cheese cutlet, and you just eat it together.

It comes served in a bowl that looks like something you'd find at your grandmother's house, full of old-school charm haha, it really gave off the vibe of going to a gyeongyangsik pork cutlet restaurant holding your mom's hand~

The cutely piled sweet potato mousse shows so much care. Can you see all this cheese oozing out when you cut the cutlet? The cheese was packed inside the cutlet and it was so delicious!

Since the spicy sweet potato cheese cutlet is fried fresh to order, the cheese was still rich and flowing even as we cut into it!

The spice level wasn't strong, and something that stood out compared to other locations was the sauce — I'm not sure if it had Tabasco in it, but it had that Tabasco-like tangy heat, so it wasn't greasy at all, just sweet and spicy — the sauce was so delicious!

Mouth full of cheese!

I really can't handle greasy food. But I ate this happily without any greasiness at all! Even people who can't handle spicy food would have no trouble! It's not too spicy for kids either, so I highly recommend this spicy cutlet.

Drawbacks

I wondered if the portion was small, but it seemed like plenty for one person! The one disappointing thing was that the spicy sweet potato cheese cutlet doesn't come in a double portion, ㅜㅜ I wanted to eat more of the delicious thing,, boss, please make a double portion of the spicy sweet potato cheese cutlet too~

How big is the gyeongyangsik double pork cutlet?

Next up is the gyeongyangsik double pork cutlet. It comes with two big pieces of cutlet!

It also came with cabbage salad and a bean? pasta salad, which paired nicely with the cutlet.

Cutting into the cutlet, hear that crunch. Crunch. As time passes and the sauce soaks into the cutlet, it gets incredibly soft too!

Do you all know this? True pork cutlet connoisseurs leave a little of the gyeongyangsik cutlet, then mix the salad, cutlet, and rice all together into one glorious mess. Seriously, just trust me on this one.

Atmosphere and service

A friendly place. Kkobugi (a turtle mascot) even gave us free phone charging service! There were lots of dolls on one side of the shop. The otter holding a hamburger was so cute >.<
