Songpa bakery café for mocha salt bread and cinnamon scone: Grid Cafe

I visited this café near a family home we're moving to, after hearing it only sells same-day baked goods. The bread and desserts were fresh and delicious since they're made that day, and the coffee paired well with the bakery items — overall a satisfying visit. Inside Grid Cafe: window seats and the 2-hour limit

The inside of Grid Cafe felt clean and comfortable overall. There were window seats that looked especially good for working alone. Just note there's a 2-hour usage limit, so keep that in mind when you visit.

Since they bake bread by hand every day, it was great being able to catch freshly baked items whenever I visited. There were actually a lot of customers when I came, and I could see why it's known as a bakery spot in Ogeum-dong.

The mocha salt bread was ₩3,800, an affordable price to try. The outside had the sweet, nutty flavor you'd expect from a mocha bun, while the inside kept the plain, savory taste of a basic salt bread. Neither the saltiness nor sweetness was overdone, so the overall balance was good and it was delicious.

Apple cinnamon jam scone, ₩4,000

The apple cinnamon jam scone was ₩4,000, generously topped with apple jam that went well with the scone. The scone itself had a nice, plain simplicity, and the sweet apple jam piled on top blended well — it was delicious.

Grid Cafe's egg tart

The egg tart was also delicious. The vanilla bean filling inside was smooth and full of flavor, and since it was freshly baked, both the bread and dessert felt fresh. Every menu item did a good job bringing out its basic flavor, which made the whole visit satisfying.

Overall, this was a delicious café where I enjoyed everything from bread to drinks. Since the bakery is baked fresh in-store every day, being able to taste freshly made bread was especially nice, and the coffee paired well with the bakery items too.
