Korean head spa for an oily scalp in Jamsil, Seoul: Alexandre de Paris

My hair has gotten really long now, and everyone who sees me comments on the length... (a bit embarrassed, haha). The longer it gets, the more I worry about the ends, so my biggest concern these days is definitely my hair condition!

AND since I have an oily scalp, it gets greasy-feeling pretty fast even after a short time, so through a consultation I decided to get my scalp and hair managed together this time. The place I visited was Alexandre de Paris Jamsil Avenuel, inside Lotte Avenuel.

The first thing I loved about Alexandre de Paris Jamsil Avenuel was how thorough the consultation was before starting any treatment. I told Director Jaeseo, who took care of me, about my scalp and hair concerns, and he was so kind and put me at ease right from the start.

After carefully checking my current hair condition and usual concerns, he set the right direction for my care. Instead of jumping straight into a clinic, he listened to my concerns first and explained everything, which made the whole process feel much more comfortable!

Most of all, I was touched by Director Jaeseo's thoughtful care from start to finish!

Designer-assigned areas and the private spa room

The moment I walked into Alexandre de Paris Jamsil Avenuel, what caught my eye first was the luxurious, upscale interior. What was impressive was that each designer has their own assigned space!

I was treated in a private spa room that day, and it was so quiet and private it felt like real healing.

Alexandre de Paris has apparently worked alongside legendary brands like Coco Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Balmain, Maurice Hanae, Valentino, and Madame Grès through Paris collections and haute couture. And they still keep collaborating today with fashion designers from houses like Louis Vuitton and Chanel, as well as world-class artists and artisans, to create distinctive styles.

Shampooed three times, and the scent was spot on

The real treatment started with the shampoo step, cleansing the scalp and hair.

They shampooed my hair a whopping three times? Each time with a different product, which surprised me! Every one of them had a different purpose, whoa.

They used Histemo for scalp care and Kerastase for hair care, and honestly the scent was the best part! Not an overwhelming heavy fragrance, but pleasantly fragrant with a subtly fresh feel.

As the scent spread gently while I was being shampooed, just the fragrance alone felt healing 🙂 Sure enough, they said they choose products carefully considering not just performance but scent too. It felt good to know they cared about even these small details!

Since the shampoo isn't rinsed out right away — it's left on so the ingredients absorb well, which can dry out the hair — they also used a mist steam with keratin directly added to prevent that!

The Kerastase clinic that refills what long hair is missing

After cleansing, the real hair clinic began. They explained that hair is made up of about 90% protein, and the method works by replenishing the amino acids that make up keratin.

Sure enough, they applied a mist steam containing keratin again, and by this point I was starting to get drowsy — it was basically healing time in the spa room, hahahaha.

Scalp care for an oily scalp that cooled the crown

For scalp care, they also used a Kerastase scalp massager, and when they worked on my crown, it felt seriously refreshing! >3< My scalp sometimes feels stiff, and having it thoroughly worked on with the massager felt like that heaviness was melting away!

Before everything wrapped up, the director did a hands-on scalp massage too. But the pressure... was intense ~_~ He explained it was releasing tight fascia, and it felt like my crown and entire scalp completely loosened up, hahaha.

While I was being treated in the spa room, the massage chair kept running too. Oh, this was so nice too, hahahaha. My lower back had been feeling tight lately, probably from posture, and after the massage chair that part loosened up too! I came for a hair treatment and left having healed everything from scalp to back!

A pre-shampoo partway through

When moving between steps in the clinic, they also did a pre-shampoo in the middle. They said this step doesn't create much lather — it just removes excess product from the previous step so the next step can absorb properly.

They explained why each step was needed, so instead of just lying there getting treated, I could understand the process as it happened — very satisfying!

Carbonated care, step by step

The ASMR highlight of any head spa! I also got carbonated care. They treated my entire scalp and hair with carbonation, and once this step was added, it really felt like my scalp was being properly taken care of!

That sound is so good!

Since I have an oily scalp that gets greasy fast, going from a thorough shampoo cleanse straight into carbonated care left my scalp feeling noticeably fresher.

Finishing with the blowout styling

After finishing the whole clinic, they also gave me a drink!

Lastly, I added a blowout styling. It was raining outside and my hair is half-wavy, so if I just let it air dry it would get frizzy... ㅜ_ㅜ

Director Jaeseo took one look at my hair and said a straightened style would suit me well, so he finished it off calm and sleek, and I really loved the result...

That day I was planning to eat hot pot after this, hahahaha

I was just going out to eat, but having my hair done so nicely made me even happier 🤪 Way too dressed up for someone just going to eat hot pot, hahahaha. Adding the blowout was so worth it!
