Before heading out to Yeongheung-do for camping, we stopped by Grill Duck Hangari Barbecue in Siheung for lunch. Located near Starfield, this place specializes in duck, and seeing so many families dining there only made me more excited. Here's my honest review after visiting Grill Duck Hangari Barbecue in Siheung.

Grill Duck Hangari Barbecue in Siheung is well positioned near several attractions, making it a good stop before or after a day out. Siheung Gaetgol Ecological Park, the Lotus Theme Park, and Bucheon Natural Ecological Park are all within 15 minutes by car, so it worked out well to eat here after sightseeing.

Is parking convenient?

Since many guests come by car, the parking lot is quite large, so there didn't seem to be much trouble finding a spot.

The interior was tidy and well kept, with big windows that made the space feel open and comfortable to dine in.

The hall is spacious and there's proper group seating too, so it looked like a good spot for family gatherings or work dinners. When we visited, there were indeed a lot of families around, and the group seating was already fully booked.

The self-serve bar was kept clean too. At busy places you sometimes see it get messy after use, but during our visit everything stayed tidy, which gave a nice sense of hygiene.

Grill Duck Hangari Barbecue offers a range of dishes including hangari-aged barbecue, charcoal-grilled fresh duck, and marinated duck. Among them, the half-and-half option that lets you try both fresh duck and marinated duck together is apparently the most popular. They say they only use carefully selected Korean-raised fresh duck and Korean female pork.

What about the side dishes?

Most of the side dishes are apparently made by the owner personally, and maybe that's why they weren't over-seasoned — everything tasted clean and well balanced. The flavors weren't strong or overpowering, so it seemed like something people of all ages could enjoy without any hesitation.

What we ordered this time was the marinated duck seasoned with the restaurant's special sauce.

The portion was generous, and it came with plenty of vegetables too, which made it look even more appetizing. The fresh duck in particular looked to be in good condition, sliced thick with a nice, satisfying bite. The seasoning was well absorbed and just the right amount of salty, so overall it was a satisfying meal.

There were three of us, and we ordered one whole marinated duck — the portion was so generous we were too full to even touch the fried rice. If you're visiting as a group of three, ordering the value set with a half duck plus a fried rice combo and one meal set might work better. Since the seasoning sauce was so good, I was really looking forward to the fried rice, and it was a bit of a shame we were too full to try it.

The duck hotpot had a good nutty flavor from the generous amount of ground perilla seeds, and the broth was rich and deep. From the marinated duck to the hotpot, the flavors overall were solid, making for a satisfying meal.

Overall the portions were generous enough that three of us ate our fill, and each dish — from the marinated duck to the hotpot — had its own distinct flavor. The thick-cut fresh duck paired especially well with the seasoning, and it was almost a shame we couldn't manage the fried rice. With a spacious layout good for family visits and convenient parking, if you're looking for a good duck restaurant in Siheung, this place is worth a visit.
