Siheung duck barbecue restaurant for family meals: Grill Duck

When you go out to eat with family or someone special on the weekend, you want a barbecue place with easy parking and generous portions, right? This time, I visited a duck-meat specialist with amazing access, located right next to Starfield Bucheon at the entrance to Siheung.

From the sweet-and-spicy marinated duck that left three of us absolutely stuffed to its thoughtful facilities, let me tell you all about it. This is Grill Duck Hangari Barbecue, a great restaurant near Starfield Bucheon.

I loved the location from the start. It is right beside Starfield Bucheon, so it was incredibly easy to find. The route is perfect for dropping in for a meal before or after shopping or catching a movie.

A cramped parking lot can be stressful from the very beginning when you are having a group get-together or family meal, but the parking lot here was enormous. Even a beginner driver could park comfortably and walk right in!

A spacious interior and a spotless self-service bar

Such a warm-hearted, thoughtful restaurant—they even offer a 10% discount to military personnel, firefighters, and police officers! 👨🚒👮♂️🎖️

The dining room was spacious too, with plenty of room between tables, so I immediately thought it would be perfect for a family gathering in Bucheon or a family meal out in Siheung.

The self-service bar was kept wonderfully clean and tidy, making it a pleasure to use. Every vegetable was crisp and fresh, as though it had just been picked—nothing wilted at all.

An 800g whole marinated duck and side dishes

As soon as we ordered, neatly arranged side dishes and vegetables arrived.

When the food came out, the grill was piled high with red-sauced duck, onions, mushrooms, green onions, and more. I was honestly shocked by the quantity. Even for three people, it filled the huge grill, so we could enjoy it freely without ever worrying there would not be enough.

As the duck cooked on the grill, the sauce sizzled and gently bubbled away. That delicious sweet-and-spicy aroma hit my nose, and I kept salivating while I waited.

As the sauce soaked right into the meat, the duck’s rich oil mingled with the vegetable juices, and the sight of it turning golden on the grill was truly a work of art...

The complimentary duck soup that came with it had an outstanding broth, so if you are driving, be prepared. Be prepared to call a designated driver....

What flavor is this again? I have had it before, but it is so delicious.

It was chewy yet wonderfully tender, with absolutely no gaminess. The sweet-and-spicy, savory sauce had soaked into every strand of meat, so even eating the duck on its own, I simply could not put my chopsticks down… 🤤🤤

I placed two thick pieces of marinated duck, some sauce-soaked onion, and a piece of pungent Cheongyang chili pepper from the self-service bar onto a fresh, open lettuce leaf, then wrapped it all up. The crisp lettuce, rich duck juices, and sharp heat of the chili burst in my mouth in a perfect match—so good together! Eating it as a ssam (lettuce wrap) meant I could just keep going without getting tired of it.

Fried rice you absolutely cannot skip

They stir-fried rice, shredded seaweed, and vegetables in the rich duck fat and umami-packed sauce…… As it started to crisp on the grill, the nutty aroma filled the restaurant ㅠㅠ

We were already incredibly full, but you know there is always a separate stomach for fried rice. We cleared every last bite properly.

A clean finish with iced coffee for dessert

As we were about to leave after finishing our meal, I noticed they had set up a vending machine where we could get a refreshing iced coffee! After the rich meat and fried rice, the cool, clean iced coffee was exactly what we needed to refresh our palates—it was such a neat ending that there was no need to visit a café separately. ☕🧊

The food was excellent, the portions were large, and the satisfaction for the price was huge. Truly great value, great flavor—such a good restaurant.

Why I want to return for a family meal

Spacious parking, excellent access right next to Starfield Bucheon, generous and fresh marinated duck, a clean self-service bar, and the perfect progression from lettuce wraps to fried rice 🤤 Plus, a 10% discount for military personnel, police officers, and firefighters, and refreshing iced coffee for dessert!

I was completely satisfied in every way, so I am definitely planning to come back with my family soon. My intention to revisit is 200%!
