Since we made a reservation at Haemokjeong Guwol Branch, they wrote down our name and set us up at a window-side table🫶🏻

We came for an early dinner, and as we ate, tables started filling up one by one :-) The space is really clean and spacious, so it's comfortable to eat in. Tables are spaced well apart too, so it's easy to talk — I'd recommend this place for a Guwol-dong family gathering, family meal, meetup spot, pre-wedding gathering, or wedding-invite meetup!!👍🏻

The side dishes at Haemokjeong Guwol Branch are really neat too. The ingredients look really fresh and come out clean and tidy, so it's a Guwol-dong Korean restaurant that even parents or older family members would love!

They also set out soy sauce and gochujang (red chili paste) for dipping to taste, plus spicy chili powder if you want it even spicier — feel free to sprinkle it on freely :-)

Ordering the abalone seafood hotpot with spicy broth

Haemokjeong Guwol Branch is really famous for its braised dishes, but the seafood hotpot looked so good too, so I ordered the 'abalone seafood hotpot'!!

For the 'abalone seafood hotpot', you can choose between spicy broth or jiri (clear broth)!! We wanted something with a bit of a kick, so we went with the red broth😌

I was genuinely surprised at how generous it looked. It was loaded with seafood and roe, plus plenty of vegetables — really substantial. And you could tell at a glance that the abalone, seafood, and every ingredient looked super fresh, so it couldn't possibly taste bad.

Really generous, right?? It comes out packed to the brim, an instant pass just from the visuals.

Once the broth was boiling away, they cut everything into bite-sized pieces and dunked it deep into the rich broth!! :-)

They cut the squid into easy-to-eat pieces too,

and the roe was cut into nice pieces too, making it look even more appetizing!! So generous!!

Haemokjeong Guwol Branch is perfect for an everyday meal, but I'd also highly recommend it for a meal with parents, a Guwol-dong family gathering, a Guwol-dong drinking spot for good bar snacks, a pre-wedding meetup, or a wedding-invite gathering!! Both the menu lineup and the presentation are so good that I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a meetup spot near Yesulhoegwan Station!

How the broth tastes, plus adding knife-cut noodles

Tasting the 'abalone seafood hotpot' at Haemokjeong Guwol Branch, the broth was really refreshing with a clean-ish (?) spicy kick — so clean that you never get tired of it. Because the broth is so good, you keep drinking it, and since it's not too harsh or salty, that made it even better. We drank so much broth that they even refilled it mid-meal🫶🏻 Since the broth was so tasty, I figured adding knife-cut noodles would be great, so I added some!!

The noodles were really chewy! Cooked in that delicious broth, the knife-cut noodles were seriously good.

Since the core mains at Haemokjeong Guwol Branch — spicy braised ribs, braised pork ribs, braised angler fish, seafood jjim, seafood hotpot — are all delicious to begin with, whatever noodle or add-on you throw in is bound to taste great.

Definitely recommend the abalone seafood hotpot at Haemokjeong Guwol Branch as a drinking snack too👍🏻

Parking at Haemokjeong Guwol Branch is really convenient too👍🏻 If you use the underground lot at the 'Main Plaza' building at 15 Seongmal-ro 13beon-gil, Namdong-gu, Incheon, you get 2 hours free parking! :-) Just make sure to ask staff to register your parking before you leave☺️
