Extra Mile in Gwangalli is a Western restaurant serving pizza and pasta out of a converted house, and it's free corkage, so we could drink the alcohol we'd brought along. Four of us got together, ordered two pizzas plus an added cheese crust, and tried all four pizza flavors.

What especially drew me in were the distinctive pizzas (taco pizza, salad pizza). A converted house with a green view out the window — total my-type spot..💚 I heard they were free corkage 🍾🍷 for booze you bring yourself, so I ran right over, and the vibe was so good the drinks just kept going down 🤤

This place has been getting pretty hot as a Gwangalli Western food spot lately, so I got curious and checked it out — the entrance already had a different kind of vibe. It's a building converted from a pretty house, and the green, green scenery beyond the window seats was already half the meal. 🍃🌿🌱☘️

🖍️ We visited around 5pm on a Saturday. More than half the tables were full at the time, but there was no wait.

The sunlight coming in through the window frames was pretty enough that I thought this would be perfect for a relaxed Gwangalli lunch. I saw families with babies, couples on dates, and groups of friends catching up just like us — everyone enjoying their own vibe. ✨

🍾 And here's the most important part. We had alcohol we'd brought along, and the moment I heard it was free corkage, I ran right over. Good vibes, good food, plus my favorite drinks — it was a day where the drinks really just kept going down. 🍺🍻

🖍️ We ordered and were waiting when I noticed a drawing and colored pencils laid out on the table mat — what's this? Turns out it was set up for us to color while the food was being made. It was a bit funny, four women in our thirties intently coloring a table mat, but it was more fun than expected and there was zero downtime for boredom. Kids would obviously love this, and it's also a nice, low-key thing to do while chatting when adults come together. Before we knew it, the food was out.

🍺🍕🍻 That day we ordered two pizzas and generously added a cheese crust, checking off all four flavors in one go. 🍕Hot honey pepperoni, birria taco pizza, salad pizza, potato pizza — we tried them all!

🥗🥗 Personally, I'm someone who never pays money for salad, but this salad pizza was oddly delicious? The combo of fresh vegetables and dressing over the chewy dough was so good my hand kept reaching for more.

Still, my personal top pick was without a doubt the hot honey pepperoni. I already like flavors that are a little spicy and sweet-spicy, and this was truly the perfect match with beer or any drink.

Birria taco pizza: even the cilantro-haters' favorite

🥙 The funniest part was the birria taco pizza. Two out of the four of us can't handle cilantro, but somehow everyone named this pizza their top pick. The cilantro flavor didn't stand out and blended amazingly well with the meat and sauce — a flavor even cilantro-haters can enjoy!

What could have been better at Extra Mile

🍝 The one thing I regret is that I'd eaten noodles right before, so I couldn't try the Gwangalli pasta I was curious about. If the pizza is this good, the pasta's got to be great too. I'll definitely be back soon to work through the pasta and everything else I haven't tried. The vibe, the food, the free corkage — all of it was a win today! 💗💗💗
