We visited for a late lunch, so I was lucky enough to capture this pleasant view after everyone had finished eating! The clean, tidy interior really stood out. Izawa is a great Sharosugil lunch spot for focusing on the person across from you in a quiet atmosphere~~ Perfect for a date course.

The Two-Person Set and Quickly Served Gyukatsu Meals

You order directly from your seat. Dondeok and I ordered the two-person set, which comes with two gyukatsu meals and drinks 🐷🐷 It’s nice to refresh your palate with a drink while eating, so I recommend the set menu when visiting as a pair!

The gyukatsu meals arrived soon after ordering. It had been such a long time since I’d last seen gyukatsu... What a gorgeous color. That marbling just lifts your mood~ 🤤 Izawa surprised me with both its neat presentation and the generous amount of gyukatsu. Wow~~~

One great thing about Izawa Sharosugil Branch as a lunch spot near Seoul National University Entrance Station is how attentively the staff check in when the grill seems to be losing heat! Before we even asked, they changed the grill grate for a clean one. I loved how considerate that was...

Back on goes the gyukatsu over the freshly changed grill grate~ Thanks to the owner’s thoughtful touch, we could happily keep eating.

Izawa definitely earns its reputation as a gyukatsu spot! The gyukatsu + sauce + wasabi combination was so good. I coated it generously in that delicious sauce,,🐷 Even Dondeok, who has a small appetite, scraped up every last bite.

Recommended for a Sharosugil date! The gyukatsu is tender and tasty, with a generous portion, plus the fun of grilling it together over charcoal. I was especially impressed that they took care of the fire when it weakened or the grate got dirty before we had to say anything. I recommend it to couples who want to enjoy tonkatsu (Japanese breaded pork cutlet) or gyukatsu in a comfortable, clean restaurant.
