Namdong Japanese restaurant near sheep farm for kids: Hongdae Gureume

In short

Hongdae Gureume Incheon Nonhyeon Branch is a Fukuoka-style ramen and tonkatsu restaurant on the 2nd floor right in front of Nonhyeon Station in Namdong, Incheon. Visiting at 2pm on a weekend before heading to the nearby Incheon Sheep Farm with kids recovering from the flu, the writer ordered the Fukuoka-style ramen set, sirloin tonkatsu, and spoonable sushi (salmon) — the ramen wasn't spicy at all, so even the kids finished the broth over rice. With ample basement parking and friendly staff, it's a solid stop for families heading to the sheep farm.

Last week, the kids and I all caught the flu and stayed cooped up at home. Apparently the flu is going around a lot these days ㅠㅠ everyone please be careful!

Once our fevers went down and the weather turned nice on the weekend, we decided to go to the sheep farm in Nonhyeon-dong, Incheon! We got ready without rushing and started off with lunch nearby.

Conveniently, there was a Fukuoka-style ramen & tonkatsu place nearby, so we checked it out. (Seems to be a famous restaurant in Incheon Nonhyeon!)

Location and parking at Hongdae Gureume Incheon Nonhyeon Branch

It's right in front of Incheon Nonhyeon Station, so it looks convenient to get to by subway too! We came by car, and parking is available in the building's basement, which was super convenient! The parking lot is spacious enough, so even a beginner driver should be totally fine!

Exterior and interior: felt like stepping into a Japanese ramen shop

We visited around 2pm on a weekend, and although there was no wait, there were still quite a lot of customers! There are lots of tables inside, and especially many seats that are great for solo dining!

The interior really gives off the feeling of being at a famous Japanese ramen shop! It's cutely decorated with famous Japanese posters! (I couldn't take a photo because customers were eating there haha)

Notice introducing the head chef and store information

The head chef seems very experienced. From the phrase "we hope this bowl of food brings comfort to our guests," I could feel the care put into the cooking.

There's a detailed explanation of how to enjoy the spoonable sushi, as well as about Kumamoto-style ramen. My expectations were already sky-high before even eating.

Stacks of regular customer coupons under the register

Seems like there are a lot of regular customers! There are so, so many coupons stacked under the register!! haha Looks like a lot of nearby office workers come here.

Finally, the food we ordered arrived! The Fukuoka-style ramen wasn't spicy at all, so the kids ate it really well!

A bowl of rich-broth Fukuoka-style ramen
Soft-boiled egg on top of the ramen

And just as the rumors said, the broth is very rich! The kids ate so well they even mixed the broth with rice. And the soft-boiled egg on top, seemingly marinated in seasoned soy sauce, was savory and slightly salty, so delicious! (Since it was soft-boiled, mom ate it)

Also, if you order the set meal, two large fried tofu rice balls and some fried items come along with it! Even someone with a big appetite would get very full just from this one dish!

I was curious about the spoonable sushi too, so we ordered it together! My husband and I love salmon, and the salmon here was so, so delicious! If you look for the salmon hiding under the sauce, it has such a nice color hahahaha. This was so tasty. (Totally a recommended menu item!!)

We also ordered the tonkatsu for the kids. Can you see how plump the tonkatsu is haha? I was worried it might be dry, but it was very tender. The kids ate it so well that I tried some myself, and there's a reason they liked it so much. Kids' taste buds don't lie haha.

Overall verdict: good for families visiting the sheep farm?

For one, the location right in front of the subway station makes it accessible, so it seems like a great spot not just for local residents but also for families visiting the sheep farm! And couples on dates, and young people (?) coming with friends haha — seems like all kinds of people visit.

Also, the value for money is really great! The portions are generous for the price, and the taste is good too, so you won't regret visiting!

And the staff are very friendly! Sometimes you go to a restaurant, and no matter how good the food is, if the staff are unfriendly you don't want to go back, right? Here the staff were friendly, which left an even better impression.

There was some kind of "words of comfort" fortune draw on the table haha. Our family each drew one. Husband's > mine > first kid's > second kid's (mom drew for the first and second kids haha). I'm not sure if they were really words of comfort haha, but it was fun to draw one while waiting after ordering.

If you're looking for a good restaurant in Incheon Nonhyeon! Try visiting for a date or on your way to the sheep farm. I'll definitely visit again next time I'm in Incheon Nonhyeon!!
